Wagon
Honda Airwave can be classified as a compact wagon based on the Honda Fit. Like the base model, the fuel tank is located in the middle of the chassis (a type of small platform that, after the birth of the first Fit model, gained worldwide popularity). But unlike Fit, the distance between the axles is increased by 100 mm, which immediately positively affected the passenger and cargo capacity of the cabin. When you look at the car, attention is drawn to the smooth lines of the front end, complemented by a massive bumper. At the same time, a modification is offered, equipped with a glass roof of 1100 × 770 mm in size, which smoothly closes with the front glass and has a sunscreen that moves with an electric motor. Such a body Honda calls Airy Cabin, and its main attraction is that the interior is always full of light, which means it looks more spacious. Airwave competes with popular models like the Toyota Corolla Fielder and Nissan Wingroad.
Standard equipment Airwave G has a manual air conditioning, tilt steering column, power windows, auto-adjusting lights, chip key, tinted windows on the rear doors, electrically adjustable side mirrors, heated and hydrophilic coating. In the second row there are seats of a special design called Ultra Seats with a convenient large central armrest. The standard boot volume is 473 liters. Naturally, if you tilt their backs forward, you can get an even larger luggage compartment. At the same time, the rear seat is equipped with a tilt mechanism back - at a small angle, but still sufficient to make landing more convenient. The car is equipped with an original instrument panel with four independent dial scales, and in the L-type trim levels, the backlight is white, with brightness adjustment. In addition, the car in the upper trim levels is equipped with steering column switches, climate control, aluminum wheels 14 "or 15", the door handles have a chrome finish. In 2007 - the first improvement, with the replacement of all four trim levels G, G Sky Roof, L and L Sky Roof with two trim levels M and SKY with top-end equipment. After restyling in 2008, there were changes in the exterior and interior: the design of the grille, front bumper, seat upholstery, etc. e. The new ST (Stylish Tourer) package features an original body kit, an abundance of colored parts, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a gear knob.

The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder SOHC engine and VTEC system. Engine power - 110 hp (at 5800 rpm), the maximum torque is 143 Nm (4800 rpm.). The motor is equipped with a variator - a continuously variable transmission Honda Multi-Matic S. In expensive trim levels, a manual shift mode is provided in a 7-speed scheme using the keys on the steering wheel. Contrary to expectations, with one and a half liter engine Airwave has good dynamics. If we talk about fuel consumption, it is 5.5-5.9 liters per 100 km.

Airwave front suspension is independent, such as MacPherson strut, with anti-roll bar, rear - continuous beam in front-wheel drive cars and De Dion in all-wheel drive versions. Due to the long base and the design features of the rear suspension, it is worth noting the size and volume of the luggage compartment, and loading in it is facilitated by a low floor level. On all-wheel drive versions, the traditional for Honda is the DPS (Dual Pump System) all-wheel drive system with a connected rear axle when the front wheels slip.

The list of standard systems and safety features of the Honda Airwave looks quite impressive. These are frontal and side airbags, belts with pretensioners and load limiters, a mechanism for fixing a child seat, stiffeners in the doors, a body of increased strength. From electronic means: ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake force distribution system), Brake Assist (auxiliary braking). The crash test of NASVA (Japan) in 2006 showed excellent results - according to the results of the side and frontal test, the car received six out of six stars for protecting the driver and front passenger. Airwave implements all the basic features and symbols with which the concept of a modern car is associated - sportiness and swiftness of forms, maneuverability and controllability, economy and excellent driving characteristics. This roomy station wagon is capable of performing various tasks and is very popular in the secondary market due to the optimal price / quality ratio. In addition, to solve commercial problems in Japan, its utilitarian version - Honda Partner in GJ3 / GJ4 bodies was also implemented.
