Honda Stepwgn 1 generation, restyling 05.1999 - 03.2001

1 generation, restyling
05.1999 - 03.2001
1 generation, restyling
In 1999, the design of the front of the body of the first generation Honda Stepwgn (RF1 / 2) changed slightly, the driving characteristics and operational qualities of the model improved. In terms of design, the differences were the new 4-lamp multi-reflex head optics, new bumpers and a radiator grille that refreshed the front of the car. The design of the rear door has changed, the license plate has shifted down closer to the bumper. The design of rims and caps has been updated. One of the important changes was the modernization of the automatic transmission and a slight increase in engine power - from 125 to 135 hp.
There are not many changes inside the Honda Stepwgn and they are all common for restyling. In general, the trim has improved, the design of some elements has been changed. In addition to the N, G, W and Deluxee trim levels, a new version of Speedee appeared, which was distinguished by numerous details of external tuning and sports notes in the interior. In 2000, the exclusive Ultra version was added with light-beige upholstery of seats with an improved texture, standardly installed CD / MD player, aluminum rims, a door closer, etc. The previous two versions of the middle row of seats are preserved: a rotating one-to-one division and a folding folding seat seat on the left or with two separate seats. As usual, the car has many convenient places for storage, including different volume compartments, trays and pockets, cup holders, etc. d.

After restyling on the first generation Stepwgn, a 2-liter inline 4-cylinder DOHC B20B series engine continues to be installed. The upgraded powertrain of 1999-2001 cars now produces a maximum power of 135 hp. (at 5500 rpm) and a torque of 184 Nm (at 4200 rpm). This engine is one of the most common "Honda" units and has proven itself in terms of reliability. It combines with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The drive can be front or full. Honda Stepwgn cannot boast of outstanding dynamic performance, but they are worthy for a family minivan. As for fuel consumption, Stepwgn consumes 8.8-9.8 l / 100 km (in 10/15 mode). The volume of the fuel tank is 60-65 liters.

Honda Stepwgn has a front-wheel-drive layout and independent front and rear suspensions. On the front axle are MacPherson struts, on the rear are double wishbones. The car was equipped with power steering, disc brakes front and rear. Body dimensions: length 4605 mm, width 1695 mm, height 1830-1845 mm. The wheelbase is 2800 mm, and the turning radius is 5.6 m. The dimensions of the internal space look pretty good: the dimensions of the cabin are 2730 x 1575 x 1335 (L x W x H). When the two rear rows are folded, the minivan has a very large cargo compartment, however, even with all three rows of seats in the back, there is still enough space for luggage.

After restyling, the first-generation Honda Stepwgn will offer three-point seat belts with load limiters and pretensioners, side stiffeners, two airbags (for the driver and passenger), anti-lock braking system (ABS) as a standard. This car has achieved great success in the market due to its family focus. Sophisticated transformation schemes for the seats can accommodate a lot of everything, and there will still be space. A huge plus - the ability to spread the seats in a flat bed, which will appreciate lovers of car travel. The disadvantages of the Honda Stepwgn RF1 / 2 are windage, body corrosion, insufficiently warm interior with one stove, weak rear suspension, low ground clearance. In 2001, the next generation of the model was released.
