Stream was created on the basis of the 7th generation Honda Civic. This car has the 5th body size according to the classification of the domestic Japanese market and is equipped with seven seats located in three rows. The name of the model is translated as “stream” or “stream” - and as if to confirm this, the car has a fast, finished, perfect design, the distinguishing feature of which is “sports luxury”, emphasized by the smooth outline of the body. Particularly noteworthy is the beautiful shape of the rear of the car, created by the run-down lines running from the roof to the rear bumper. Salon Stream is comfortable and convenient. In addition, the car has an impeccable security system and excellent driving characteristics, which until now have not been found in any compact station wagon with three rows of seats. Stream can give its owner an unforgettable driving experience. The car offers a fairly spacious interior with comfortable seats, and the second row seats move freely separately. The trunk, if the third row is folded, has a length of 1060 mm, but if the seats of the second row are also completely folded, its length increases to 1780 mm. If we talk about the weaknesses of the car, then this is most likely a solid third row - the double seat folds and unfolds only in its entirety, which reduces the possibility of transformation. As is customary in the domestic market, the Honda Stream provides a wide variety of trim levels, where the top-end version offers climate control, an electric sunroof, a remote key, a navigation system with a DVD and a TV, a rearview camera, etc. A special chic is an entertaining multimedia complex for rear passengers, with a large screen, headphones, a remote control. After the first restyling of 2003, one of the most interesting modifications appeared in the model range - the Absolute package, the very name of which makes it clear that the acquirer can count on a very high level of equipment. In addition, it is a sports equipment, it has an improved suspension and excellent aerodynamics.

The Stream is equipped with two types of engines: a 1.7-liter inline 4-cylinder SOHC VTEC and a 2-liter in-line 4-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC. The power of the first motor is 130 hp, and it is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The power of the second engine at first was 154 liters. with. and he walked in combination with a 4-speed or 5-speed automatic transmission. Since 2003, a variator has been added, and engine power in combination with it has grown to 156 hp, while in combination with an “automatic” - up to 158 “horses”. In terms of fuel efficiency, the best version of Stream is the front-wheel drive Absolute, oddly enough, with the most powerful two-liter engine, but in combination with a variator: in the manufacturer's specifications, the consumption rate is stated - up to 15 km per liter. For all other versions with “automatic machines” the same indicator lies within 13-14.2 km / l.

The independent suspension of the Stream will pleasantly surprise you with its comfort, combining moderate stiffness, thanks to which the car has good handling and stability. Front - MacPherson struts, rear - double wishbones. True, only more expensive cars are equipped with both front and rear stabilizers - this is again the privilege of Absolute trim levels and two-liter S versions. The rest have only a front stabilizer. But, on the other hand, Absolute is deprived of the advantage that might seem important to someone - the all-wheel drive, which is provided for other versions of the Stream with both engines, and in the S configuration, it also has an S-Matic transmission with the ability to manually shift gears.

In terms of safety, even by modern standards, the first generation Stream looks quite worthy, especially those cars that were released after restyling in 2003. Standard equipment includes anti-lock brakes ABS with brake force distribution EBD and auxiliary brake system BAS. Xenon headlights are offered on all versions except G, giving better light distribution at night or in the rain. The car has a ruggedized body, equipped with stiffeners in the doors, seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, child seat mounts, front and front side airbags. Talking about the characteristics of the first generation Honda Stream is impossible without an understanding of how modern this car was for its time. And today, its advantages against many competitors in class and price remain the same: safety, efficiency, dynamics and comfort. Thanks to this, the used Stream, presented in a variety on the market, have great popularity and a serious reputation as an excellent and inexpensive family car.
