Infiniti QX80 1 generation 11.2013 - 11.2014

SUV
The QX80 is the only car in the Infiniti range whose name during the campaign to rename the lineup (at the end of 2013) has changed only partially. Previously, the SUV was called QX56, based on its status and engine size. Now the letter Q is common in the lineup of the Japanese premium brand. X indicates the off-road orientation of the car, the figure 80 is the top, flagship position in the production program. The rest is still the same “fifty-sixth” or even more luxurious Nissan Patrol. It is based on a frame partially integrated into the power structure of the body. The only engine has not changed either - a 5.6-liter V8 rated at 405 liters. with., transmitting torque to the wheels through a 7-speed "automatic". All-wheel drive transmission is an All Mode 4x4 system with a multi-plate clutch that can connect front wheels forcibly or automatically. The number of seats is seven or eight, depending on the performance.
The standard equipment of the Infiniti QX80 includes bi-xenon headlights, headlight washers, front and rear fog lights, LED taillights, folding electric mirrors with heating, a sunroof, and an electric boot. The leather interior is equipped with a climate control system, heated first and second row seats, a two-channel Bose premium audio system with a power of 333 watts, an Infiniti infotainment center and a ventilation hatch with automatic opening. For the driver’s convenience, the seat is equipped with ten electrical adjustments, a heated steering wheel, cruise control, a rearview camera and a chip key are installed. There are two options for the layout of the cabin: 2 + 2 + 3 and 2 + 3 + 3, with a decent supply of space for each of the rows. A powerful power unit serves to move this 5.3-meter giant weighing almost 2.8 tons - this is the VK56VD series engine, based on the engine of the previous VK56DE series. Initially, this power plant was used on the Nissan Armada, but for the QX56 luxury model it was reworked twice, so now the engine power reaches 405 liters. sec., and the maximum torque is 560 Nm. The engine is distinguished by direct fuel injection, a system for changing the valve timing on all camshafts, as well as a system for changing the lift height of the VVEL valves. In combination with this engine and a 7-speed automatic transmission, the Infiniti QX accelerates to a maximum speed of 210 km / h, and from zero to 100 km / h accelerates in just 6.5 seconds. Gasoline consumption is 20.6 l / 100 km in the urban cycle and 11 l / 100 km in the countryside. The fuel tank has a capacity of 100 liters.

The Infiniti QX80 has an independent spring suspension on the double wishbones at the front and independent, pneumatic, on the double wishbones at the rear, this combination provides high smoothness and excellent handling in its class. Pneumatic rear suspension features maintain constant ground clearance. The car is deprived of such a familiar thing as anti-roll bars. Instead, the hydraulic system Hydraulic Body Motion Control fights against rolls: the hydraulic cylinders of the shock absorbers are connected to each other and to the hydraulic accumulators via highways, the system functions by flowing fluid, depending on the load on a particular shock absorber. The All-Mode 4WD drive system is capable of real-time calculating the required tractive effort and instantly respond to changing conditions. In AUTO mode - automatically distributes torque between the front and rear wheels for better handling and dynamic acceleration, in addition, 2WD, 4WD High and 4WD Low modes are provided. With dynamic stabilization systems (VDC), brake force distribution (EBD) and braking assistance (BA), as well as traction control (TCS) and anti-lock braking (ABS) systems, the Infiniti QX80 will allow the driver to feel confident in any road conditions. The standard equipment also includes rain and light sensors, a set of six airbags (front, front side, full-size curtains), active head restraints, child seat mounts, parking sensors, headlight delay function, adaptive road lighting, tire pressure sensors. In the Hi-tech configuration, you do not have to pay extra for the presence of an assistant for lane conservation, radar cruise control, combined with a collision avoidance system with automatic braking function.

Infiniti QX80 - a typical American car, created by Japanese engineers, and at the same time perfectly suitable for Russian conditions. In the minuses, they usually note insufficient visibility, large overhangs and low-profile R22 wheels, more suitable for the highway (even despite the well-balanced driving characteristics, the chassis is noticeably stiff on the side road). In the pros, experts note the excellent dynamics, convenient controls, large capacity, as well as the presence of one of the most powerful V8 engine in the class. From the point of view of comfort, the best choice would be a seven-seater equipment with “captain's” seats of the second row.
