Hatchback
The compact and stylish Lexus CT 200h hatchback is a completely new car, which is the first premium hatchback in the world with a hybrid powerplant. It is partially based on the well-known IS-class platform, but such components and assemblies as the rear suspension and powertrain have been developed from the ground up, as they say. The exterior of the car is quite dynamic, the body is made in a pronounced sport style with short overhangs and a rear door decorated with a small spoiler. In the European market, the newcomer gained considerable popularity against the background of other representatives of the Lexus brand. In 2013, the model was restyled. He traditionally touched on the design of the front and rear of the body. The radiator grill has acquired a corporate-wide spindle-shaped form (which, however, was also guessed in the pre-styling machine). They also changed the optics of the model (including headlights), the design of the rims.
The most affordable version of the car was offered to Russian buyers in the Comfort configuration, in which the car is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlights with washers, fog lights, side mirrors with repeaters, a multi-function steering wheel, an alarm system and an audio system with six speakers and the ability to connect external devices via USB and Bluetooth. The Executive car is additionally equipped with front and rear parking sensors, a rain sensor, a keyless entry system for the car, and leather interior trim. The top version of the hybrid is distinguished by LED headlights, a rear view camera, a Mark Levinson audio system with six-disc DVD changer and 13 speakers, a navigation system, cruise control, auto-dimming rear-view mirrors, a sunroof, electrically adjustable seats and position memory. The new hatchback does not provide any alternatives in terms of engine selection. Under the hood, this model can have only one power unit: a hybrid unit, which consists of a four-cylinder 98-horsepower 1.8-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor with 80 forces. This whole set is aggregated by a new generation CVT (CVT), which steplessly changes the gear ratio, ensuring a smooth ride. Combined fuel consumption is only 4.1 liters per 100 km. In 2014, the car topped the ranking of the most environmentally friendly cars. Its highly efficient full hybrid drive delivers the best-in-class CO2 emission rating of just 82 g / km.

The Lexus CT200h has an independent McPherson front suspension and a double wishbone rear suspension. The car uses an electric power steering (EPS), in which the gearbox is mounted directly on the subframe, for greater rigidity, better feedback and precise control. The length of the car is 4320 mm, the wheelbase is 2600 mm, and the width is 1765 mm, while it has short front and rear overhangs. To minimize yaw and improve maneuverability, the components farthest from the center of gravity (and here it is located quite low) are made of aluminum, for example, a hood, a rear door, and bumper reinforcing elements. Passengers are placed as close to the center as possible, this also reduces the possible moment of inertia. The hybrid battery is located under the luggage compartment floor, but within the wheelbase, to optimize weight distribution and balance. To reduce weight, the car body includes not only aluminum, but also a high percentage of light high-strength steels. The use of the latter, in turn, determined serious indicators of passive safety - in a series of crash tests Euro NCAP, the car received five out of five stars. As standard, it is equipped with a full range of airbags (front, side, knee, curtain), ISOFIX mounts, active head restraints, belts with pretensioners. The electronic systems include ABS, EBD, auxiliary braking systems, traction control and directional stability, as well as assistance when starting on the rise. Option - pre-emergency safety system.

In 2011, the Lexus CT200h became the best-selling brand model in Europe and was recognized as one of the best cars in the compact segment. However, in the Russian market, the novelty did not have so many buyers, since consumers focused on the premium compact class preferred models with traditional gasoline and diesel engines. However, used Lexus CT200h in the Russian market are offered with a very good discount, which can justify the purchase of a used hybrid, of course, given its good technical condition.
