The front-wheel drive Lexus ES300 in 1991 acted as the successor to the first-generation Lexus ES250 model. From the previous series, the car is distinguished by a completely new design with a more streamlined body (Cd = 0.32), elegant front and rear optics and, on the whole, a dynamic exterior, not lacking, however, the “contamination” typical of the “Japanese” of the early 90's. The name change to the ES300 reflected an increase in engine capacity of up to three liters. At the same time, the car became larger in length and width. Frameless doors, as well as a glass-covered and almost invisible central pillar, remained unchanged. A typical representative of the premium class, Lexus ES300 implies appropriate content. These are 15-inch alloy wheels, full power accessories, automatic climate control, electric front seats, wood trim. Packages of additional equipment made it possible to bring the car’s equipment even more chic: they offered a leather interior, a sunroof, heated front seats, a CD player and a CD changer, a premium Nakamichi audio system with 8 speakers and much more. Restyling in 1994 provided for a rather significant number of improvements, starting with the exterior and interior (new optics, chrome wheels, outside temperature sensor, etc.), ending with a new engine with an aluminum block. Until 1994, the car was equipped with a three-liter V6 series 3VZ-FE both on the "mechanics" and with the "automatic". For this motor, a maximum torque of 264 Nm is available in the range from 2500 to 4600 rpm, a peak power of 185 hp. accounts for 6000 rpm, and the "cut-off" occurs at 7200 rpm. After restyling in 1994, this motor gave way to the more modern 1MZ-FE engine, which has a lower weight (aluminum block and, in general, more significant use of light alloys). Its capacity is 185 liters. with., a torque of 275 Nm. For the 1MZ-FE, only an automatic transmission was offered.

 The chassis of this generation of cars retains the previous type of design with independent front and rear suspensions on suspension struts with coil springs and anti-roll bars. Front ventilated disc brakes, rear disc brakes.
