The Lexus GS sedan owes its appearance to the Toyota Aristo model for the Japanese domestic market, which was born back in 1991. For two generations, the cars were full twins, but Aristo was discontinued in 2005, and the third-generation Lexus GS rightfully took its place in the domestic market, which is an independent model in which the new original Lexus design was first embodied - L -finesse. The world premiere of the fourth generation Lexus GS took place in August 2011, and sales in Japan started in January 2012, marking the first complete change of Lexus models in Japan. Initially, GS250 with rear-wheel drive and GS350 were offered to customers in two versions, with rear and all-wheel drive (AWD), and in March sales of the hybrid version of GS450h began. As for this modification, the GS250 rear-wheel drive sedan is equipped with a 2.5-liter engine in combination with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
As standard, the GS250 has 17-inch alloy wheels, LED running lights, front fog lights, electrically adjustable front seats in 10 directions with memory for the driver; heated steering wheel, front seats, side mirrors and windshield in the wiper area; engine start from the button, selector for selecting driving modes, cruise control and climate control; leather-covered multifunction steering wheel, second-generation Remote Touch joystick connected to an 8-inch high-resolution color monitor with navigation system, AUX, USB and Bluetooth interfaces. Options include: 18-inch wheels, trinocular all-LED headlights, electric sunroof, premium Mark Levinson audio system, electric trunk, projection display. In the “I Package” package, in addition to the above, leather interior and ventilation of the front seats are offered. The “F SPORT” version is distinguished by a sports exterior, and in the cabin there are seats with enhanced lateral support (up to 16 adjustments for the driver) and other sports notes in the design. The “Version L” package emphasizes the premium level: steering wheel trim with bamboo inserts, heated rear seats, improved leather seat upholstery, up to 18 driver's seat adjustments and an electric passenger footrest, three-zone climate control with a control panel in the rear armrest. Under the hood of the GS 250 is a 6-cylinder 4GR-FSE V-engine. This 2.5-liter gasoline engine is equipped with dual-fuel injection technology and Dual VVT-i intelligent variable valve timing. Maximum power 215 HP achieved at 6400 rpm, maximum torque of 260 Nm - at 3800 rpm. Working in tandem with a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual sequential gear shifting, this engine allows the GS250 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.6 seconds. The claimed mileage per liter of fuel is 11.6 km.

The car uses the upgraded Toyota N platform, while the wheelbase remains unchanged compared to its predecessor. The GS250 is fully independent - with double wishbones in front and multi-link at the rear. In addition to changes in stiffness settings, the Lexus GS received all aluminum suspension components, which allowed it to reduce weight and optimize axle weight distribution. The standard integrated vehicle dynamics control system (VDIM) with a selector for selecting driving modes is able to adjust the driving performance and characteristics of the car depending on road conditions and driving style. Safety Lexus GS meets the highest requirements due to the fact that all versions for the domestic Japanese market by default are equipped with a collision avoidance system with pedestrian detection, lane control system, automatic high beam (AHB), radar cruise control, tire pressure sensors. In addition, active systems include: ABS (with brake force distribution system), VSC, TRC, emergency braking assistance. A set of standard restraint devices: front, side airbags, curtain airbags, driver and passenger knee airbags, belts with pretensioners and load limiter, ISOFIX mounts. The “Version L” package also has rear side airbags, adaptive LED headlights (AHS).

In the domestic market, Lexus GS is average success - it shows popularity ratings that take into account sales of new cars. It lags noticeably behind the IS models and the "newbie" CT, which has made it into the list of leaders in the Lexus lineup. At the same time, rich standard equipment, a luxurious interior and the availability of modern technology, coupled with high quality and a natural drop in value, make the Lexus GS quite attractive as a used car.
