The third generation Lexus GS sedan was first introduced in 2005 at the North American Auto Show in Detroit. In this generation, the Lexus GS is built on a platform with a wheelbase of 2580 mm. Multi-link rear suspension. Significantly improved driving performance of the model - both maneuverability and smoothness. As befits a premium performance car, Lexus GS is distinguished by excellent sound insulation, and the rapid proportions of the body and the features of the arrangement of its elements provide a low drag coefficient (Cd = 0.27). Initially, the GS line consisted of gasoline-powered cars (3.0-liter V6 and 4.3-liter V8) and a hybrid modification of the GS450h. Offered on the Russian market since 2005, the GS300 is equipped with a 3-liter V6 engine.
There are three complete sets for Lexus GS300 (S190) in Russia: Executive (basic), Premium and Luxury. The standard equipment of all versions includes xenon headlights and headlight washers, front “fog lights”, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors. In addition, the base contains electric seats, wood trim, climate control, on-board computer. Premium equipment will offer all the features of the basic version, plus a rear spoiler, leather and wood trim on the steering wheel, leather interior, ventilated front seats, and an electric sunroof. In the top-end Premium package, there is a Mark Levinson audio system with 14 speakers, a DVD navigation system, and a DVD changer for 6 discs. Lexus GS300 is equipped with a 3GR-FSE engine - it is a 3-liter gasoline V6 that uses a modern direct fuel injection system that provides excellent performance, high power (249 liters. sec.) and impressive torque (310 Nm). The proprietary variable valve timing system VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent) provides continuous and accurate engine tuning for various operating modes. Acceleration to "hundreds" will take 7.2 seconds. The transmission on the GS300 is a 6-speed automatic. In this version, the sedan can be called quite economical - the average gas consumption for the Lexus GS300 is 9.8 l / 100 km (according to the stated technical data, it consumes 10.7 liters in the city and 7.2 liters on the highway). The volume of the tank is 75 liters.

Given that the GS is primarily a sports sedan, the chassis is tuned accordingly, but at the same time maintains high comfort. Ventilated disc brakes (334 and 310 mm) are installed on both axles of the car, providing the most effective braking. The standard wheel size is 225/50 R17. As for the general reliability of the machine, the safety margin of the components and assemblies, they are quite high, although in the absence of timely maintenance, the characteristic “fifth cylinder problem” in the engine may manifest itself, and the “maintenance-free” gearbox still requires attention in aggressive driving not a great resource.
