Sedan
The fourth Lexus LS (XF40) was the third hybrid model to combine four-wheel drive systems and the Lexus Hybrid Drive system. The long version of the LS600hL features a wheelbase of 3.09 m (the “short” LS600h - 2.7 m). A long interior, elegant, clear and fast lines of a wide body emphasize the simplicity and style of the flagship Lexus. As befits a luxurious and respectable car, Lexus LS460L has excellent sound insulation. Only high-quality materials (leather, natural wood, plastic) that have passed the strictest selection have been used in the cabin. The car is unique in its own way, it became the first executive hybrid car in the world. In addition, the machines for the first time in the world are staffed with spotlight LED headlights with three lenses.
The new Lexus LS460L, which went on sale in Japan in May 2007, was offered in the basic equipment version or with the Separate Rear Seats Package, the latter providing rear seats separated by a fixed center console, while the left rear is equipped with adjustable support for the legs and tilting to 45 degrees back, with relaxation massage function. This was accompanied by an additional emphasis in terms of safety (another pillow installed in this seat, preventing the passenger from slipping off), and in addition, various additional equipment corresponding to the highest degree of comfort. For example, a ceiling-mounted infrared sensor of a climate control system that monitors the body temperature of passengers in second-row seats and allows you to adjust airflow if, for example, people got into a car from the cold or from the heat. However, even the basic equipment is “stuffed” according to the full program: 19-inch wheels, “just” electric drive, keyless entry system, electric heating and ventilation of the seats front and rear, and much more.

The latest Lexus LS 600hL hybrid drive system uniquely combines unrivaled power with high environmental friendliness. The output of the 5.0-liter V8 engine is 394 hp. (290 kW), electric motor - 224 hp (165 kW), and the total total power of the system is 445 hp. (327 kW). Combined fuel consumption is the best among classmates - only 9.3 l / 100 km (this corresponds to the average for cars with a 6-cylinder engine). The Lexus LS 600hL is the world's first permanent all-wheel drive hybrid car. The transmission has three differentials and an engine shaft connected directly to the hybrid transmission. The TORSEN limited slip differential transmits 40% of the torque to the front axle and 60% to the rear axle. The torque distribution is constantly monitored and can vary from 30:70 to 50:50 on the front / rear axle, respectively.

The front and rear suspensions of the Lexus LS600hL use new pneumatic damping elements with single-tube shock absorbers used in the advanced adjustable adaptive suspension (AVS). Based on the data received from the sensors of the body position control system, it eliminates the rolls and inclinations of the car in corners for maximum passenger comfort. The Lexus LS600hL is equipped with a powerful adaptive electric power steering (EPS) with variable gear ratio (VGRS) - a compact and lightweight steering mechanism works silently and additionally saves fuel, and depending on the speed, the steering force changes smoothly. The above devices work effectively in combination with an integrated vehicle dynamics control (VDIM) system, which also includes all types of active safety: an electro-hydraulic brake system, anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), traction control ( TRC) and Electronic Stability Program (VSC). Passive safety systems include a set of ten airbags: two front, openable in two stages, front knee (driver and passenger), front side, rear side, curtain type for the entire length of the cabin. In the top-end configuration, an additional pillow is installed in the ottoman chair (under the knees, to prevent the passenger from slipping off), and are also standardly included: a lane keeping system, a collision avoidance system, a rear safety system before a collision (with an intelligent pre-emergency head restraint). The composition of the LS600hL equipment for the Japanese market over the years has been revised more than once, and the equipment has been consistently improved. After the first restyling, the top-end package called “Version UZ” (after the second restyling “Executive Package”) also extended to the 5-seater version. Popularity in Japan Lexus LS600hL with a long wheelbase is quite high - compared with the standard LS600h, it offers an impressive legroom for rear passengers and the most complete set of comfort and safety features provided for the model.
