Lexus RC300h is a hybrid modification of the spectacular sports coupe of the new Lexus RC family. In the Japanese market, the novelty was presented along with a modification of the RC350, equipped with a gasoline engine. Apart from the small differences in design, the cars are almost identical. But, of course, globally differ in aggregate stuffing. The basis of the hybrid version’s power plant is a 2.5-liter inline four, but, as the Lexus hybrid has established, the number “300” means that the vehicle is comparable in its characteristics to versions with three-liter gasoline engines. The transmission is also different - instead of an automatic transmission (RC350), the RC300h hybrid is driven by a variator.
Among the details of the external equipment of the hybrid RC, 17-inch wheels, an expanded assortment of body colors, LED low-beam headlights, LED “fog lights” and parking lights (with daylight function) can be noted. The standard equipment includes: an intelligent keyless entry and start system, electric steering column, leather steering wheel and gear knob, optitronic instrument panel with multi-information display, steering wheel heating, steering column switches, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone climate control, audio system Lexus and a 7-inch center display multimedia system. The interior provides contrasting trim, decorative inserts, four comfortable seats, the front of which are equipped with electric adjustments (with driver's memory) and heating. In the “F SPORT” package, the car is distinguished by a “F SPORT” type grille, decorative nameplates (fenders, steering wheel), pedals and sills, LFA-style appliances, leather sports seats with ventilation. In the top equipment “Version L” - fully LED optics, tires 235 / 45R18, seats made of semi-aniline leather.

The power plant RC300h F Sport is a 176-horsepower gasoline engine with a volume of 2.5 liters, which is paired with an electric drive. The latter makes a decent contribution to the increase in power and traction, bringing the return to a total value of 223 hp The transmission uses a continuously variable CVT gearbox. Acceleration to 100 km / h will require 8.6 seconds. The car has a top speed of 190 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is 4.7 l / 100 km, and CO2 emissions (also in the combined cycle) are only 113 g / km.

The double wishbone front suspension is combined with the rear multi-link. The car is equipped with an electric power steering (EPS) as standard. In addition, in the upper trim levels, the hybrid is equipped with a system of adaptive AVS shock absorbers, which significantly improves the handling characteristics of this car. The “F SPORT" equipment, in addition to the retuned chassis, is distinguished by different-sized tires: 235 / 40R19 at the front and 265 / 35R19 at the rear. Brakes - with ventilated discs in front (334 mm) and rear (310 mm), with 4-piston calipers installed in front.

From the driver assistance systems, the standard Lexus RC300h equipment includes: cruise control, radar cruise control (with brake control), rear view camera, Hill Start Assist (hill start assistance system). The active safety systems are based on: ABS with electronic brake force distribution, VSC stability control and TRC traction control systems integrated in the VDIM complex (integrated dynamics control system), as well as tire pressure monitoring. The passive systems include: eight airbags, including frontal, knee-mounted for the driver and passenger, front side airbags and curtain airbags for the entire length of the passenger compartment; seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, as well as ISOFIX anchorages. Lexus RC300h is a great example of sportiness and economy, first implemented in a coupe in combination with a hybrid drive. In dynamics, the hybrid is inferior to the RC350 (not to mention the flagship RC F), but it demonstrates the main advantages of the family - excellent reaction and handling, especially in the “F SPORT” version, designed for lovers of active driving (this coupe even looks more aggressive than the standard RC300h). In 2015, the model range was supplemented by a modification of the RC200t with a two-liter turbo engine, which took the junior position in the line for the Japanese market.
