In November 2013, at the Tokyo Motor Show, Lexus officially unveiled a prototype of the new model - the RC Series Coupe. Three models served as the basis for the platform: the front section was borrowed from the GS sedan, the middle section from the IS C convertible coupe, and the rear section from the IS sedan. The car was planned for release in two versions: a hybrid RC300h with a 2.5-liter engine and an RC350 with a 3.5-liter V6. In August 2014, the Russian representative office of Lexus announced the start of accepting orders for the RC350 sports coupe. Sales of this modification began in November of that year. For Russian buyers, the car was available in four trim levels: Executive, Luxury 1, Luxury 2 and F Sport. The latter differs from other versions, including the special design of the front end - a modified bumper and grille, as well as 19-inch wheels and other features. The list of basic equipment RC350 (Executive) includes LED low beam headlights, daytime running lights and rear fog lights, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels. The list of equipment also includes leather seats with heated and electrically adjustable lumbar support on the driver's seat, heated windshield in the area of the cleaners, an audio system with six speakers, a multifunctional steering wheel with leather trim. Options Luxury 1 and 2 imply the presence of a fully LED optics of the head light, as well as a sunroof and parking sensors, rear and front. Options include a Mark Levinson audio system with 17 speakers, 18-inch wheels and a rearview camera. Together with the top performance of Luxury it was possible to order interior inserts made of shimakoku or bamboo wood.

The RC350 is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6, developing a maximum power of 317 hp. (at 6400 rpm) and a maximum torque of 378 Nm (at 4800 rpm). The motor is paired with an eight-speed “automatic” with manual sequential gear shift. Fuel consumption varies from 7.4 l / 100 km in the suburban cycle to 13.8 l / 100 km in the urban cycle. The specific power in this modification does not exceed 5.7 kg / l. with. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h - 6.3 seconds. As standard, the car is equipped with an ECO / NORMAL / SPORT / SPORT S + drive selector, where the latter provides maximum engine and transmission performance.

The multi-link rear and double wishbone front suspensions combined with the aerodynamics typical of sports cars provide the Lexus RC350 with great handling. The F Sport version differs from the basic version by the presence of a sports suspension with rear steering wheels, 19-inch wheels with 235/40 R19 tires, as well as a sports steering wheel and aluminum pedals. Brakes are standard ventilated discs front and rear, with front ones with 4-piston calipers, and F Sport also has reinforced front discs with a diameter of 356 mm. The body structure of the car forms a reliable power frame. The equipment includes eight airbags, complemented by child seat mounts, belts with pretensioners, the front seats are equipped with active head restraints. Lexus RC350 is equipped as standard with an integrated vehicle dynamics control (VDIM) system, which integrates a number of active systems, including: directional stability control (VSC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control (TRC), electric power steering (EPS). The equipment also includes a start-up assistance system on a slope, a tire pressure monitoring system, automatic switching of high beams to a dipped beam, and a blind zone sensor. A dynamic rear-view camera greatly simplifies the parking process. Lexus RC350 demonstrates all the main advantages of the family of cars - sports design and specifications, a luxurious interior and is the most powerful of the “civilian” versions of the Lexus RC line (except for the flagship RC F with a 5.0-liter V8). However, in February 2016, the manufacturer suspended sales of the RC350 on the Russian market, after which only the RC200t turbo version remained more accessible to Russian buyers, more interesting in price and economical, but significantly inferior to the RC350 in dynamic characteristics.
