This model is one of those projects that are developed by one company, and are issued under the brand name of another. In this case, we are talking about the transformation of Alto - one of the representatives of the Suzuki family. Mazda Carol debuted in 2004, and the 6th generation Suzuki Alto was the base. The new generation has radically changed the external and internal design of the machine. Compared to the previous generation, the Mazda Carol looks more solid and more expensive - both outside and inside. Moreover, even in its own way it attracts with its individuality. If we take the appearance, then due to the skillful combination of curved and straight surfaces, an illusion of volume was obtained, which very well compensates for the rather large height of the machine - 1500-1510 mm. And some interior decoration techniques, such as painting the interior in beige colors, to some extent helped get rid of the cheapness. In the new generation, the car has only a 5-door version of the body. The names of the trim levels are identical to Alto. However, unlike him, a number of modifications to the Mazda Carol does not provide for the availability of the simplest versions. The most expensive equipment of the machine is indicated by the letter X and provides for the installation of a 4-speed “automatic machine”. As for the category of the car with the symbol “G”, there is a wider choice: either a 3-speed “automatic” or 5-speed mechanics. For both categories, the 4WD option is provided. As standard, the car offers air conditioning, power windows, and a remote key. In a complete set X: tinted windows, 14-inch aluminum rims, fog lights, separate backs that improve functionality, an optional exterior package (“X exterior package”). The functional elements of Carol include a set of drawers and cup holders, a hook on the back of the front passenger seat, and a roomy glove box. The engine, despite the fact that the lineup includes two categories of cars, is of the same type, as in the basic Suzuki Alto model. This is a 0.66 liter in-line K6A three-cylinder engine and two camshafts in the cylinder head (DOHC). With a power of 54 hp, it meets the basic needs of consumers. Average fuel consumption varies from 4.2 liters per 100 km in the front-wheel drive version on the "mechanics" to 5 liters in the four-wheel drive version, which is an absolute plus of the model in terms of economy. The suspension design of the Mazda Carol is a combination of the front suspension on suspension struts of the McPherson type with a rear semi-dependent torsion beam. Despite the fundamental transformation of the appearance, the wheelbase, the total length and width of the car compared to the previous generation have not changed. But the turning radius decreased to 4.1 meters - and this is one of the main features of the model, which provided it with the original Alto high popularity in Japan. Mazda Carol offers a comprehensive list of safety equipment as standard. These are front driver and passenger airbags, belts with pretensioners and force limiters, door stiffeners, anti-theft system, as well as ABS, EBD, BAS systems that are included in additional options. All of this equipment is standard on the X configuration. The main advantages of the car - practicality, efficiency and ease of operation - not only remained unchanged, but also received further development. It should be noted that Alto, along with its clone under the Mazda brand, was created taking into account the wishes of potential consumers. Carol is less common among used cars on the Russian market than Alto, this is mainly due to the lack of the simplest versions, which are in higher demand due to their low cost.
