Wagon
This wagon, created on the basis of Lancer, began to be produced in 1992. Libero has a characteristic, memorable appearance due to the original design of the rear of the body and the line running along the bottom of the glass. At the very beginning of production, the model had front-wheel drive or 4WD FULLTIME drive with a central differential and was equipped with a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder SOHC engine or a 2-liter turbocharged diesel engine. On a 1.8-liter engine, a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 3-speed automatic is installed; on a diesel engine - a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
A bit later, the GT modification appeared, equipped with a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine with intercooler and turbocharging. In addition, in 1997, the Green Field modification was released, which uses a 1.6-liter in-line 4-cylinder engine, and the body of which is equipped with an safety arc ("kenguryatnik"), made in the style of SUVs. Thus, gradually the number of modifications increased. The design of the front of the GT modification models was associated with the very popular Lancer Evolution. As a result of improvements, engine power reached 215 hp. Thanks to the impeccable 4WD system, the car managed to take its rightful place in the class of sports station wagons. This model has many elements that contribute to creating a sporty image, such as 14-inch alloy wheels, MOMO steering wheel and Recaro seats.
