In 2001, the 4th generation Cima sedan was released (F50 series, Infiniti Q45 in foreign markets). Compared to the previous model, the body size has increased. Characteristic features: xenon headlights with a seven-lamp unit on some versions, a wide front grille, a slightly elongated roof line, a special design of the rear and rear combined lights. Nissan Cima door mirrors now have direction indicators. Everything is done at a high level accepted in the world for the class of executive cars. Gasoline engines, both with a power of 280 "forces": a 4.5-liter V8 VK45DD or a 3.0-liter turbo V6 VQ30DET.
In the fourth generation, Nissan Cima demonstrates a departure from the stereotype of “boring” interior Japanese cars. The interior is radically different from its predecessor - the front panel is built in a completely different way, partly even in some kind of “minivan” style, with a protruding influx of the central unit and an inclined climate and multimedia control panel on which a widescreen display is located. As usual, the interior is complemented by wood accents, velor everywhere, leather in expensive versions. The 450XL “has it all” as standard, including 16 ”alloy wheels, HID headlights, climate and cruise control, electric front seats, leather steering wheel, CD player. Some features of the 300G model are deprived, in particular the steering column is only adjustable here tilt, standard halogen headlights installed. For all models, an optional body kit and rear spoiler, sunroof were offered as options. VIP models are interesting with comfortable electrically adjustable rear seats, and the 300G Grand Touring version with 18-inch wheels, sports suspension, black and smoky-chrome elements in the exterior and interior.

The car is equipped with a VK engine of a new design, an 8-cylinder, V-shaped, DOHC, with a volume of 4.5 liters. Developed power - 280 hp In addition to this main option, there is a modification with the traditional 6-cylinder turbo engine, DOHC VQ30DET, the power of which is also equal to 280 hp. Both versions include versions with rear-wheel drive, and for the 4.5 V8 unit there is also an all-wheel drive version with traction on all four wheels. Rear-wheel drive cars are equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode, all-wheel drive - 4-speed automatic transmission. The chassis of the Nissan Cima F50 has a rack-mount front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. The car is equipped with ventilated disc brakes. The size of the rims varies depending on the specification: a landing diameter of 16-18 inches. In the new generation, the dimensions of the sedan body changed slightly: the length increased from 4970 to 4995 mm, the width is 1845 mm (+25 mm), the height is 1490 mm (+45 mm). The wheelbase has grown an additional 40 mm and extended to 2870 mm, while the turning radius is relatively small - 5.3 m. The saloon has dimensions of 2000 x 1530 x 1200 mm (L x W x H), so there’s no space for either the back is not felt. As for the trunk, its volume approaches 400 liters, there is a hatch for transporting skis.

The fourth-generation Nissan Cima in 2001 became one of the safest cars on the market, thanks to the fact that for the first time in the world, the Lane keep support system was used, which included a lane support system and radar cruise control. Standard equipment on all Nissan Cima trim levels (2001-2003) included front and side airbags, ABS, EBD and BA systems, an impact-sensitive door lock unlock system, and three-point seat belts (front with tensioners and restraints). The limited slip differential with a viscous coupling in the rear axle helps to level the trajectory during acceleration and is complemented by the Vehicle Dynamic Control stabilizing system. The fourth-generation Nissan Cima (F50) differs from its predecessors in a fundamentally new appearance that best emphasizes the premium-sporty character of this car. Comfortable seats with excellent support, "full stuffing" of expensive trim levels, a spacious interior, powerful engines - the model has many pluses. If the owners complain about something, then this is most often high fuel consumption, demanding maintenance, expensive suspension repairs. In 2003, the model was modernized.
