The second generation Nissan Murano crossover (Z51) was created primarily for the US market. Externally, the crossover retained its resemblance to its predecessor, indicating the kinship of generations, except, of course, if the design of the front and rear parts of the car is completely different. It is also worth noting the presence of a panoramic roof, more pronounced wheel arches, new technologies in equipment. The body of the new Murano has a special highly elastic Scratch Shield polymer coating that restores the paintwork after light scratches: when the body covered with such paint is heated in the sun, small scratches are tightened. Coating is applied to all body colors.
 In its basic configuration, Murano is equipped with an Intelligent Key system for accessing a car without a key with an engine start button, remote control of the rear seats, a rear-view camera with night mode, a premium audio system, Bluetooth hands-free and a satellite navigation system with a large full-color touch screen. In more expensive trim levels, an electric rear door is available, a panoramic roof, as well as a DVD player with a ceiling monitor for passengers in the rear row of seats. Under the hood of the Nissan Murano, there is still a 3.5-liter VQ family 6-cylinder engine, but its power has increased compared to its predecessor from 234 to 249 hp, and torque has increased from 318 to 336 Nm. The transmission is the next-generation Xtronic CVT continuously variable variator. It allows you to accelerate the car to a limited electronically maximum mark of 210 km / h, and it takes 8 seconds to accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h. In the combined cycle, fuel consumption is declared within 10.9 liters per 100 km.

 Nissan Murano 2008 is designed on the new “D” class platform, which is designed to provide Murano with the necessary driving characteristics of a modern comfortable crossover. The platform itself is not something fundamentally new. It is a modified Nissan Altima base, which has been optimized for the tasks of the new Nissan Murano. As a result, the car became stiffer on the road, and the vibration of the body decreased markedly. It should be noted that in the design of an independent multi-link suspension, a large number of aluminum parts are used.

 Of the safety systems, the equipment of the Nissan Murano (Z51) includes front and side airbags, as well as air curtains. Active safety systems are represented by a whole set: ABS, EBD, emergency braking assistance system, VDC dynamics control system with traction control, adaptive steering. The car is perfectly prepared even in such "trifles" as the presence of xenon optics, a rear view camera, cruise control, light and rain sensors, and tire pressure monitoring. Just like the first generation, the new Murano performed well in crash tests.

 The increased interest in the Nissan Murano in the market was greatly facilitated by the modern technical filling, the luxurious interior and its spaciousness, provided by a well-thought-out layout. The size of the luggage compartment of Murano II, depending on the position of the rear seats, varies from 402 liters (minimum volume) to 838 liters when measured along the window line, or up to 1,510 liters when loading under the roof. The transmission has become more responsive - thanks to the adaptive transmission control system (ASC). But some characteristic problems of the predecessor, in particular, with the CVT, migrated to the second-generation car, which, when buying a used car, puts forward increased requirements for checking the technical condition.
