The updated Japanese Otti minicar, Nissan, was launched in September 2008. Despite the fact that this car for Nissan is made by Mitsubishi (Otti is an analogue of the eK Wagon model), it has all the trademarks in the form of corresponding emblems and the design of the front grille. The key features of the updated version of the car are a revised appearance, a modified interior, improved fuel consumption and reduced emissions of harmful substances. The front of the Otti received the usual changes for restyling: a new grille, a different bumper; the more stylish RS and RX trim levels are equipped with new headlights. The power unit remains the same - a three-cylinder engine with a capacity of 50 or 64 hp
Nissan Otti, whose second generation debuted in October 2006, is known for its simple, box-shaped exterior and spacious, practical interior. Inside the updated Otti seats are installed with a new upholstery; side doors in expensive trim levels, as before, are equipped with electric drive and remote control. The new comfort indicator flashes three times after touching the lever lightly. The "top" versions of the car are distinguished by a modified center console - it now looks more sporty. Autech Japan continued to produce Rider models with a special body kit, headlights, aluminum wheels and a sporty black interior. In August 2009, a new Night Violet body color was added to the palette, in October Rider with a standard navigation system on the hard drive was released. In 2010, the content of some modifications was partially revised, due to which it was possible to achieve a reduction in their price; added "eco-indicator" to instill the driver the skill of economical driving; a new body color has appeared - Titanium Gray, now there are 10 colors in the palette of this model. In 2012, the Denim Blue Pearl color was canceled, and for safety, the head restraints were increased.

The Nissan Otti has the same 3-cylinder, 3-cylinder SOHC 3G83 brand 12-valve engine. With a working volume of 657 “cubes”, it gives a maximum power of 50 horsepower (6500 rpm) and a maximum torque of 62 Nm (4000 rpm). Aggregates the engine of your choice with a 5-speed “mechanics”, 3- or 4-speed “automatic”, the selector of which is located on the dashboard. The car was produced in front-wheel or all-wheel drive (4WD FULLTIME) version. As a result of optimizing engine settings and automatic transmission on all models except turbocharged, fuel consumption was reduced. The best result in the “10-15” mode achieved in the 2009 models was 4.3 liters per 100 km (in some versions the consumption is slightly higher), which is 0.4 liters less than before.

The chassis of the second-generation Otti model was completely adopted from its predecessor. As a result, the previous wheelbase size (2340 mm), track gauge and turning radius (modest 4.4 meters) were retained. Front independent suspension with MacPherson struts, and rear dependent on trailing arms. Steering - rack type with an amplifier. Traditional design brake system with disc mechanisms on the front axle and drum mechanisms on the rear. The dimensions of the body are the same as its predecessor: 3395 x 1475 x 1550 mm (L x W x H), while the RX and RZ models have a body height of 1570 mm. Interior dimensions: 1895 x 1275 x 1290 mm (L x W x H). The left rear door in some models is a sliding type. Its guide does not protrude outside and does not spoil the appearance of the car, this design increases convenience in tight parking, and the opening dimensions are 1005 x 530 mm.

The second generation of this car has become safer by adopting a new steering column with shock-absorbing design and a safe pedal assembly. The standard equipment includes two airbags (for the driver and front passenger), seat belts with restraints and pretensioners. All Nissan Otti are equipped with anti-lock braking system with brake force distribution and emergency braking assistance.

The second generation of the Nissan Otti mini-car, as well as the base models of the Mitsubishi eK Wagon and eK Sport, is an improved copy of the predecessor with all its advantages: ease of operation, economy, convenience for shopping, ease of maintenance, good ground clearance. The shortcomings are also preserved - cramped rear, poor sound insulation, stiff short-stroke suspension, weak atmospheric engine.
