SUV
The fourth-generation Nissan Pathfinder (R52) is based on the Infiniti JX: a carrying body and a seven-seater saloon. Compared to the previous generation, Pathfinder has become 195 mm longer, 112 mm wider and 79 mm lower (length / width / height - 5008/1960 / 1767.5 mm). Wheelbase increased by 47 mm (up to 2900 mm). The roomy cabin, as already mentioned, is designed for seven passengers, and the second and third row of seats can be folded into a flat floor for easy transportation of goods. The backrest can be adjusted on any row of seats. In general, the new Pathfinder has become more capacious than its predecessor by 0.24 cubic meters.
The Pathfinder can be equipped with a 3.5-liter 249-horsepower V6 or a hybrid powerplant.

Already in the basic configuration, the car has a leather interior, an electric drive adjusts the driver's seat in 8 directions and the front passenger seat in 4 directions, heated seats in the first and second rows. In addition, the initial version offers a chip key with a push-button ignition, three-zone climate control, a central display with a trip computer on the dashboard, a 7 "color display in the center console, a premium Bose audio system with 12 speakers (including a subwoofer ), A 2DIN AM / FM / 1CD radio with MP3 / USB support, a built-in 2 GB music server. The next-valued bundle features an 8 "color touch screen display in the center console, a radio with MP3 / DVD support, and a built-in 9.3 GB music server , Nissan Connect Premium navigation system with a hard drive, electric steering wheel adjustment for tilt and reach, heated steering wheel, as well as memory for adjusting the driver's seat, rearview mirrors, steering column and climate and multimedia systems. In the top trim levels, the car receives a transparent panoramic roof with a sunblind, an electric sunroof, ventilation of the front seats and a multimedia entertainment system for rear passengers with wireless headphones.

Under the hood of the Nissan Pathfinder R52 can be a 3.5-liter 249-horsepower V6 (325 Nm) VQ35DE series or a hybrid power plant, which includes a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder ICE QR25DER, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. Its total return is 254 hp. (368 Nm). Both versions of the SUV are equipped with an Xtronic variator. The hybrid version is distinguished by the presence of a dual-clutch system, with which the torque is transmitted to the wheels from the internal combustion engine and from the electric motor located between the engine and the variator (usually there is a torque converter). An electric power pack converts the mechanical energy coming from the Xtronic into electrical energy stored in the battery. The manufacturer claims that, given the start-stop system, the combined Pathfinder hybrid fuel consumption is about 8.7 liters per 100 kilometers, which is 20% lower than the gasoline version.

The fourth-generation Nissan Pathfinder chassis includes McPherson front and multi-link rear suspension - this combination is ideal for driving on paved roads, and the 181 mm ground clearance has little to do with off-road exploits. Note that until recently this car had a real spar frame, but now has a supporting body. Still, the new Pathfinder has something to allow its driver - the All Mode 4x4i system allows you to choose one of three driving modes: permanent front-wheel drive for maximum economy, an automatic mode in which the system distributes traction between the front and rear wheels, as well as constant four-wheel drive designed for off-road. The initial configuration of safety systems includes a wide range of active systems: distribution of braking forces, assistance when driving on the rise and on the descent, assistance with emergency braking, 4-channel anti-lock braking system, dynamic vehicle stabilization system and traction control. The car is equipped with front and side airbags, curtain airbags, ISOFIX mounts. This rich list is complemented by features such as tilting the side mirrors when reverse gear is engaged, blind spot monitoring (BSW), monitoring tire pressure, and a light sensor. In the maximum configuration, the car is equipped with a lateral movement warning system (RCTA).

The fourth Nissan Pathfinder no longer resembles the SUVs of previous generations. Now it is rather a large family all-terrain wagon. However, these are the requirements of the time when increased efficiency, controllability, weight reduction, etc. are at the forefront. But in terms of equipping Pathfinder, it has become noticeably better and demonstrates an increased level of security. In addition, the rejection of the frame in favor of the load-bearing body made it possible to reduce the floor level and, accordingly, increase the comfort of landing not only in the second, but also in the third row.
