The Teana is a high-end L-Class sedan, the model that replaced the Cefiro. The most attractive feature of this sedan is the interior design. It is worth highlighting the podium for the automatic transmission control lever, similar to the sofa seats, carefully selected finishing materials. It is perhaps hard to remember where before you could meet such a finish. The useful area of ​​the cabin is also at the highest level. For maximum convenience, landing on a comfortable and luxurious rear row, the back of the doorway is curved outward. Legroom for passengers is more than enough. From the driver's seat excellent visibility in all directions. So, the unconditional trump cards of Teana - design, coupled with practicality and comfort. But the appearance is quite restrained. But, nevertheless, a high level is felt in everything. It seems that the car is a class higher than it actually is. Home sales in Japan began in February 2003.
 Based on the concept of “premium sedan of the highest class”, depending on the level of luxury available, trim and equipment list, the Teana model range includes the following configurations: 200JK, 230JK, 230JM and 350JM, as well as the tuning version of Axis that appeared a bit later. The standard equipment on all models includes a fully automatic air conditioner with an active plasma filter, a curtain on the rear window with an electric drive. Standard equipment is also TV / Navi / DVD and a rear view camera, an intelligent access system to the salon and trunk. Steering wheel - 4-spoke with leather and wood trim. The driver's seat is adjustable in height by 50 mm with the help of an electric drive (not to mention other adjustments). Depending on the configuration, options are available such as the front passenger seat with massage function and additional support for the legs, rear seats with two-level heating, a remote control for the radio, heating and the already mentioned electric curtain located on the back row, etc.

 A few words about the engines. On modifications with front-wheel drive is a 6-cylinder engine, V-shaped, with a displacement of 2.3 or 3.5 liters. For the all-wheel drive version, a 4-cylinder engine with an in-line arrangement of cylinders with a working volume of 2.5 liters is provided. Transmission: The 3.5-liter engine comes in combination with a CVT variator, and all other cars are equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Incidentally, the transmission, which is installed on a model with a 3.5-liter engine, is the first attempt in the world to combine the X-tronic CVT system with a motor that has a large displacement and works together with front-wheel drive. The variator provides a 6-speed manual shift mode. Note also that the 3.5L V6 is the same powertrain as on the Murano North American specification, it provides excellent traction and smooth acceleration due to excellent coordination with the CVT and maximum torque from 2800 rpm.

 For all its splendor and power, the Nissan Teana is easy to operate, behaves perfectly even in tight corners, thanks to a fully independent suspension, including front struts and a rear multi-link design. The sedan with V6 is especially magnificent in dynamics: powerful traction without jerks with sports controllability and stability at high speeds. Tire size also matches - 215 / 55R17. For all that, the Teana has excellent maneuverability: the minimum turning radius is 5.3 meters. Cleared a little clearance - 135 mm is clearly not enough for our road conditions (and even with a wheelbase of 2775 mm), but still this car was created for excellent roads. Safety Nissan Teana is a combination of familiar standards and high technology. The airbag system includes both front and side (optional - curtain airbags). In addition, as a standard there are active head restraints, ABS, EBD (electronic brake force distribution), an emergency brake booster. As an option, traction control (TCS), xenon headlights (standard since 2005 together with adaptive AFS) are offered. In the 2004 NASVA crash tests (Japan), the car received five out of six stars for protecting the driver and six stars for the passenger.

 Nissan Teana is a great follower of the traditions of Cefiro, Laurel. First-generation cars have opened a new page in the history of luxury Japanese cars. Despite the fact that the cost of servicing this business-class sedan is quite affordable. The bulk of the supply on the secondary market is in the 2.3-liter versions, the more serious 2.5-liter ones are much less common, not to mention the top modifications with a 3.5-liter engine, which, oddly enough, they quickly find themselves buyers - after all, we have a special relationship with respectable cars.
