Wagon
As the basis for the second-generation design, the Nissan Wingroad, which was launched in 1999, still took the previous generation Wingroad, but now it has become a sports-type wagon. And differs from its predecessor in a more dynamic appearance and style. Like its predecessor, the car was built on the basis of the Sunny model, on the new Nissan MS platform, and is presented in two versions: the Basic series and Aero. It is equipped with Wingroad gasoline 4-cylinder in-line engines: in normal versions, these are engines of 1.5 and 1.8 liters with a capacity of 105 and 120 hp. The top version of the station wagon is equipped with an SR20VE engine with a return of 190 “forces”.
When creating the second generation Wingroad, more attention is paid to noise isolation, improving visibility, the driver's seat can be adjusted in height. The back seat not only folds in parts (60:40), but also makes it possible to tilt the back to relax on the trip. The most affordable versions have manual air conditioning, a radio and 2 speakers. A wide range of accessories is standard climate control that automatically maintains the set temperature. The car has many convenient places for storage, it can offer a glass sunroof with electric, standard or sports (for the Aero series) roof rails, fog lights, electrically folding mirrors, different versions of the “tidy” (including a sports version for 2. 0 ZV), remote key, etc.

The newly developed QG15DE base engine (1.5 L, 105 hp) NEO Series delivers consistent, efficient fuel combustion and superior savings thanks to a new 32-bit microprocessor-based control system, reduced friction and increased torque at medium and low speeds In addition, the engine corresponds to a low emission level (LEV). Another representative of the NEO series, the 120 hp QG18DE engine also received improved characteristics: thanks to a new control system and variable valve timing, a flatter torque characteristic was obtained. The top version with the SR20VE engine (NEO VVL) is a high-performance unit with a system for regulating the height and time of valve lift, thanks to which it was possible to achieve a return of 190 "forces". If the younger engines offer the usual options with "mechanics" or "automatic", then the 2.0-liter works exclusively with a sports continuously variable transmission Hyper CVT-M6.

The chassis of the Nissan Wingroad Y11 received an improvement in the form of a multi-link suspension - this is installed on the station wagon with an SR20VE engine or 4WD system (with a 1.8-liter engine). In other cases, like its predecessor, the rear suspension is semi-dependent torsion-link. Front suspension - like MacPherson strut for all cars. The car has a power steering, ventilated disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear, and disc brakes were installed with the SR20VE engine and at the rear. The station wagon was equipped with wheels of different sizes: 175 / 70R14, 185 / 65R14 or even 195 / 60R15, and the simplest versions like LE and LE extra were content with truck tires 165R13-6PRLT. The body dimensions of the Wingroad Y11 station wagon are as follows: length 4370-4390 mm, width and height 1695 and 1455-1485 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the increase in length was 75-95 mm. The wheelbase has increased from 2400 to 2535 mm. And the turning radius has even decreased - 4.6-5.2 m. In the new generation, the Wingroad has a larger interior - almost 100 mm long (1800 mm) and 60 mm wide. By transforming the seats, you can easily increase the size of the luggage compartment, while the rear wheel arches invade the interior very slightly, and when the seats are folded, a flat floor is obtained. Considerable attention has been paid to enhancing the safety of the Nissan Wingroad Y11. The new platform, high-strength casing absorbs and dissipates collision energy more efficiently, as well as the new design of lateral impact protection elements. The car has improved heat dissipation of the front brakes (ZV disc brakes and rear). All vehicles are equipped with ABS (anti-lock braking system), and the EBD (electronically controlled braking force distribution) controls the braking force according to the number of passengers. Pillows - one or two, depending on the configuration.

Nissan Wingroad Y11 compared to its predecessor has become more convenient and comfortable (especially with multi-link rear suspension). As before, the car has a reliable hodovka and a large (by the standards of the class), convenient luggage compartment in use. Among the shortcomings, the owners usually call poor corrosion protection, insufficiently powerful stove, weak one and a half liter engine. In 2001, Wingroad underwent minor cosmetic changes.
