The small Nissan X-Trail SUV, introduced in Russia by the second generation, externally maintained the continuity with the previous generation, but is built on the completely new Nissan C platform. As for the more expensive versions, in the maximum equipment X-Trail receives all the attributes of a luxury car: leather interior, cruise control, chip key, alloy wheels 18 ”; leather upholstery of the steering wheel, gear lever and parking brake handle; audio system with 9 speakers including subwoofer, panoramic sunroof with electric, multifunctional color display, all-round cameras and other "utility". There is also the most simplified version of the “XE”, which comes with a simple interior and only with a manual transmission, but, on the other hand, the cost of the X-Trail in this configuration is a little more than 1 million rubles.

 This SUV is equipped with one of two gasoline engines or a diesel engine. Petrol power units with a volume of 2.0 (MR20DE) and 2.5 liters (QR25DE) have a capacity of 141 and 169 liters, respectively. with. and equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox or continuously variable variator X-Tronic CVT with the ability to manually shift gears. The diesel X-Trail (mechanics or 6-speed automatic) comes with a 2-liter M9R engine with direct injection and 150 hp. The maximum torque - 320 Nm - is already achieved at 2000 rpm. In terms of energy intensity and economy, this particular equipment option seems ideal for a crossover designed for trips around the city and outside the city. The chassis of the car has also undergone changes. The car received an intelligent all-wheel drive system Intelligent All Mode 4x4-i, which reads data from ESP sensors, steering angle and accelerator pedal position. This system foresees wheel slippage and redistributes the torque between the front and rear wheels in the required proportion. The front of the car has an independent McPherson spring suspension mounted on a subframe, and the rear has an independent multi-link suspension. The new X-Trail is also more prepared for off-road driving and is equipped with Uphill Start Support (USS) systems - help on the rise and Downhill Drive Support (DDS) - help during the descent (except for equipment with a 2-liter engine and manual transmission).

 Compared with the previous generation, the list of security systems coming in the basic version has become even more impressive. These are anti-lock braking systems (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist (Brake Assist), front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger, window curtains, active front seat head restraints, ISOFIX child seat mounts . All seat belts are in three-point design, the front ones with pretensioners (in the driver's seat with a double pretensioner) and force limiters. All seats are equipped with seatbelts.
