Subaru Exiga Crossover 7 1 generation 04.2015 - 03.2018

SUV
In April 2015, Subaru introduced a new crossover based on the Exiga station wagon. The number 7 in the model name means the number of seats. The car received a modular interior, in which the second and third rows of seats fold into a flat floor, and the front seats can be turned into a makeshift bed. The body of the Exiga Crossover 7 is wider, longer and taller than the base model, and the ground clearance is increased to 170 mm. The characteristic look of the crossover is emphasized by black strips for bumpers, arches and side skirts, enlarged roof rails and an expressive radiator grill, as well as black-polished 17-inch wheels. Not without chrome accents. The Exiga Crossover 7 has only one modification - under the hood of the car is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine with 173 hp. (235 Nm), which works together with the variator and Subaru's proprietary symmetrical all-wheel drive system. The Exiga Crossover 7 trim names characterize the main feature of the model. For example, the standard version of EyeSight uses an advanced driver assistance system of the same name, thereby enhancing safety. The Exiga Crossover 7's interior boasts piano black and metal finishes; the interior is characterized by color contrasts: light top, dark bottom, bright light brown leather upholstery with blue-green stitching on the upper part of the seats, as well as on the door panels, steering wheel and dashboard on the passenger side. A combination of leather and faux suede is available as an option. The special equipment "Modern Style" (May 2016) features a dark brown interior, upholstery in fabric of a special texture and artificial leather in black and brown colors. In the fall of 2016, the "Active Style" version was presented, which includes 17-inch wheels of a special design, water-repellent impregnation of fabric in the upholstery of seats and door cards, as well as a functional boot floor lid - when turned upside down, it turns into a pallet with high sides, so you can fear of putting wet and dirty things in the trunk. The 2017 version of the X-BREAK is distinguished by orange-brown inserts on the steering wheel, dashboard, door and seat trim, dark silver rims, black mirror caps, CROSSOVER 7 and X-BREAK lettering on the external body elements, water-repellent impregnation of the upholstery and pallet cover in the floor. The engine for the Subaru Exiga Crossover 7 was offered only one - a horizontally opposed 4-cylinder DOHC with a displacement of 2.5 liters. Maximum power - 173 hp (at 5600 rpm). The maximum torque is 235 Nm (at 4100 rpm). The transmission is continuously variable (Lineatronic variator). The manufacturer does not provide exact data on the dynamics, but the former Exiga station wagon in the same modification with the FB25 engine accelerates to "hundreds" in about 10 seconds, for the heavier Crossover 7 this value should be worse, but not much. The fuel consumption indicator is 13.2 km / l, that is, the car consumes an average of 7.6 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. The volume of the tank is 65 liters.

At the front, the Exiga Crossover 7 has an independent MacPherson-type suspension. The rear suspension is independent double wishbone. The chassis borrowed from the Exiga has been redesigned to increase ground clearance and to improve roadholding. The car is equipped with an electric power steering, disc brakes on all wheels (front ventilated). The dimensions of the body of the model are: length - 4780 mm, width - 1800 mm, height - 1670 mm. The wheelbase is 2.75 m and the minimum turning radius is 5.5 m. Interior dimensions: 2720 x 1510 x 1275 mm. The use of a double wishbone rear suspension allowed for a very roomy trunk with a low floor - the luggage compartment has a volume of 430 liters.

The standard equipment of the Subaru Exiga Crossover 7 2015-2018 includes front airbags, side airbags and curtain airbags, child seat mountings, active head restraints. The suite of standard active safety systems includes ABS with EBD, Braking Assist System (BAS), electronic stability control and traction control, cruise control. The EyeSight system is part of the pre-crash safety system and includes cameras around the perimeter and a 3D image processing program - if a possible danger is detected, the system warns the driver and, if necessary, brakes the car to prevent an accident. The vehicle was highly praised by JNCAP.

The Subaru Exiga Crossover 7 is actually an improved version of the Subaru Exiga wagon with increased capacity in all respects, which ended in 2015. The spacious interior with three rows of seats makes this car an excellent contender for the role of a family car, and the increased ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive make it possible to move more confidently on bad roads. However, Subaru considered the demand for the model not high enough, and three years after the start of production, the car was discontinued. The advantages of the used Exiga Crossover 7 are the relatively low cost in comparison with the left-hand drive counterparts, good indicators of power, handling, economy. It is difficult to assess the minuses due to the small number of reviews for the model, but they can be expected to be quite decent dimensions (minus for the city), increased front overhang and specific features associated with servicing the "boxer". It should also be noted that the FB25 engine puts forward very strict requirements for the viscosity and quality of the oil.
