Subaru Exiga YA, 1 generation, restyling 06.2011 - 03.2015

1 generation, restyling
(YA) 06.2011 - 03.2015
1 generation, restyling
Restyling of the Subaru Exiga in 2011 brought with it changes in the exterior of the car. The design of the radiator grill has been updated, new optics have been installed, two new colors have been added: silver metallic and blue metallic, the design of the rims has been changed, etc. The next step was the update in the summer of 2012 - along with the next design changes (new mirrors with an increased area and improved visibility), the variator and the structure of the suspension and steering were modernized. Recall that the Exiga is a unique example of a combination of a spacious seven-seater saloon with three rows of seats, a horizontally opposed engine, a chassis with dynamic control and symmetrical all-wheel drive, which allows the most efficient distribution of torque between the wheels. The proposed line of power units includes gasoline engines 2.0 and 2.5 liters with a capacity of 150-225 hp. Front or full drive.
The June 2011 changes to the Subaru Exiga are common for restyling and have been reflected in the upgraded dashboard, new upholstery materials and color schemes. The equipment includes headlights with automatic light leveling function, steering column adjustable for height and reach, steering column switches, full power accessories, fully automatic air conditioning. At the end of 2011, the Advantage Line package was added to the 2.0i-S and 2.5i-S models, which includes 17-inch wheels with a dark finish, keyless entry and start system, aluminum pedals, combined seat upholstery (2. 0i-S is made of a combination of fabric and faux leather, while the 2.5i-S is made of Alcantara and leather). A number of changes also followed in 2013 and 2014, the latter including the introduction of the special Airbreak model, which features a standard panoramic roof, eight-way power front seats, a keyless entry and start system, and a number of special exterior and interior details. Under the hood of the Subaru Exiga in the most powerful version of the GT, a 2-liter turbocharged engine from Subaru Forester is installed, the engine power is 225 hp, and the maximum torque is 326 Nm. When starting from a standstill to a speed of 100 km / h, this model, equipped with a 5-speed "automatic" and an all-wheel drive system, accelerates in 7.5 seconds. In the presence of the base 2.0-liter "aspirated", the power is 150 hp. (191 Nm), front-wheel drive or full (since 2013, the production of a modification with this engine has been discontinued). The 2.5-liter EJ25 series engine has a power reserve of 170 hp. (229 Nm), only four-wheel drive. In 2012, this unit was replaced by a new DOHC type FB25 engine with a timing chain drive - the power increased to 173 hp. sec., and torque - up to 235 Nm. Models with atmospheric engines were equipped with a CVT only. In 10/15 mode, the car is capable of driving up to 15-12.6 kilometers on one liter of fuel. The volume of the tank is 65 liters.

The Subaru Exiga chassis is built on the Subaru DC3 concept (dynamic control chassis), on the model with a turbocharged engine, the SI-Drive (Subaru Intelligent Drive) motor control system is installed. At the front, the Exiga has a MacPherson-type independent suspension. The rear suspension is an independent double wishbone, its use made it possible to create a very roomy trunk with a low floor. The car is equipped with an electric power steering, disc brakes on all wheels (front ventilated). The dimensions of the body of the model are: length - 4740 mm, width - 1755 mm, height - 1660 mm. The wheelbase is 2.75 m and the minimum turning radius is 5.5 m. Interior dimensions: 2720 x 1510 x 1275 mm. The luggage compartment has a volume of 430 liters.

The standard equipment of the Subaru Exiga 2011-2015 includes front airbags, and for a surcharge - side airbags and curtain airbags (standard for more expensive trim levels). Standard active safety systems include ABS with EBD, Brake Assist (BAS) cruise control, electronic stability control and traction control. Standard on select models, EyeSight is part of the Pre-Crash System and includes perimeter cameras and 3D imaging software. The vehicle was highly praised by JNCAP.

Among the advantages of the Subaru Exiga are quite high power indicators (if you do not take into account the basic version), handling, economy, supported by an interesting price. The increased roominess makes this car an excellent contender for the role of a family car, but in terms of body size it is larger than seven-seat competitors like Toyota Isis, Nissan Lafesta, Mazda Premacy. Among the shortcomings, the owners call a low stance and a suspension that is weak for our roads, a large front overhang and specific features associated with servicing the "boxer". Operating in a more severe thermal regime, the new FB25 engine puts forward stringent requirements for viscosity and oil quality.
