Wagon
Sedan
Toyota Altezza Gita is a 5-door station wagon, the base for which was the Toyota Altezza sedan. Like the Altezza, which has an analogue oriented to the European and American markets, the Altezza Gita is a car that meets the high demands of Europeans. Knowing this, it becomes understandable interest directed at this wagon, which is closer in size to hatchbacks.
The word Gita is translated from Italian as "voyage, travel." The rear-wheel drive inherited from the Altezza sedan and the sporty character of the Altezza Gita are categorized as sport-wagon, “sports station wagon”.

For the domestic Japanese market, Altezza is equipped with a 6-cylinder engine with a volume of 2 or 3 liters. Unlike the sedan, Altezza Gita is also equipped with all-wheel drive with the i-Four system. The back of the front passenger seat can be folded, turning into a functional table. In the roomy trunk you can place bulky items.
In 1998, Toyota launched the Altezza model - a sports rear-wheel drive sedan, the sports modification of which (RS200) was equipped with a 210-horsepower engine with a volume of 2 liters, 4 cylinders and a VVT-I system, a 6-speed manual transmission, dual-link independent suspension type and limited slip differential. All this allowed Altezza to give excellent speed characteristics. There is also a modification AS200 - with a 6-cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 160 hp. and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Only automatic transmission was installed on the first cars of this modification, but since 2001 the AS200 has also been equipped with a 6-speed “mechanics”.
The design of the Altezza dashboard is designed in a plain range with metallic inserts. An automatic transmission, which can be equipped with a modification of the RS series, allows you to manually shift gears.
