Toyota Celsior has become widely known for its Lexus LS400 counterpart. in 1994, the second generation of the model appeared, which, like the first, firmly took its place among high-end luxury cars.
 The changes Celsior underwent did not go beyond the basic concept of the model. At first glance, the style and appearance of Celsior remained completely the same. But, looking more closely, changes can be found everywhere: a more spacious interior, an elongated wheelbase, a 4-liter V-shaped engine with a capacity of 265 liters. with., improved aerodynamic properties, reduced vibration, as well as increased resistance to shock and vehicle safety.

 In 1997, a restyling of the model followed: the design of the front and rear lights changed, engine power increased to 280 hp. In all respects, it was already a brand new Celsior. Like the model of the previous generation, Celsior had its counterpart widely known in the US and European markets - the Lexus LS400.
