Toyota Corolla Runx and Toyota Allex are two twin hatchbacks from the Corolla family of large models. The basis for the creation of these cars was the concept of a European premium hatchback. So the Europeanized 5-door hatchback was designed. From the front panel to the rear door, the car looks like a sedan, and only the trunk seems to be cut off. With such trimming, a ridiculously shortened shape is usually obtained, but here the balance is skillfully maintained by equipping with larger rear combined headlights. This hatchback model is divided into modifications of the Corolla Runx and Allex, depending on the stores where it was sold. Despite the insignificance of the differences, each of the two machines has its own personality. The Allex looks slightly retro. Sporting elements add to the Corolla Runx's independence and originality. The door handles and the bar above the Runx rear number are painted in body color, unlike the chrome trim elements of Allex. Both cars were equipped with engines of 1.5 and 1.8 liters.
Each Runx and Allex range has its own equipment. But any of them have a similar model in a related model. For example, the initial version of the Allex XS150 fully complies with the starting modification of Runx X, and the top-end Allex RS180 - Runx Z. However, for the Corolla Runx the list of trim levels was expanded due to more varied combinations of the list of options. It is only natural to assume that for the sports version special suspension settings are needed. Actually, this is the case - the Z Aero Tourer / RS180 modification used stiffer springs and a lower suspension, and as a result of the modernization, the behavior was completely improved through the use of a front suspension damper (“performance damper”), as a result of which the car acquired even brighter sporting character.
A sufficiently high level of safety equipment for its time and today classifies the Runx / Allex family as one of the safest cars. The equipment includes front passenger and driver airbags (optionally side airbags), an ABS system in conjunction with an emergency brake booster and brake force distribution system, seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, child seat fasteners, additional stiffener bars in the doors.
The Corolla family in the 120th body showed a serious rejuvenation of the famous brand, which received a new technical filling, better equipment and greater comfort. The representative of the lineup, the bright Runx / Allex hatchback was the best confirmation of this. Being a large group in the secondary market, these cars are very much appreciated in the market today, especially those that are in excellent technical condition and despite their relatively decent age, may well be considered as an alternative to some much more recent classmates.
