If we talk about all-wheel drive, then it is organized according to the V-Flex 4WD scheme, which is also widespread for many “compacts,” with rear wheels connected by a viscous coupling. Given the decent clearance for a base of 2370 mm in size (155 mm), the presence of 4WD will give the owner some advantages when driving on country and forest roads (lovers of summer cottages and picnics), and even in winter on a slippery road. Safety Toyota Ist as standard is provided by frontal and lateral (option) airbags, seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, child seat locking mechanism, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist systems. A crash test conducted in 2003 by NASVA (Japan) showed a high level of passive safety - the car received six out of six stars for protecting the driver and five stars for the front passenger. The name of this car can be translated from English as “an expert in his field,” and this very accurately describes the Toyota Ist as an almost perfect compact car, roomy and nimble, equally suitable for both men and women. On the market, this generation is almost equally divided between machines with engines of 1.3 and 1.5 liters, among the second often all-wheel drive is also found.
