In 2013, the restyling of the Land Cruiser Prado took place. The representative of the fourth generation (J150) received a modified exterior and interior design, an expanded set of standard equipment and an updated list of options. In working on the appearance, the designers focused on the front of the car: new stylish headlights with LED daytime running lights, a new bumper and grille were installed. There are fewer changes behind: upgraded light units and tailgate trim. The LC Prado also received 17- and 18-inch wheels with a new design. Changes in the interior include an improved quality of materials, a 4.2-inch color screen on an optitron dashboard, on which you can display, for example, information about the work of off-road systems or visually see the roll of the car in degrees. In addition, the on-board computer data, telephone or multimedia data are displayed on the display. The new Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system uses a 7-inch high-resolution display, offers improved touch controls and more advanced functionality. Sales of the updated version on the Russian market began in November 2013. Another update affected the car in 2015, while the LC Prado received a new Global Diesel (GD) engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission for all powertrains. As standard, the Land Cruiser Prado offers halogen headlights, headlight washers, front fog lights and rear fog lights; side mirrors with built-in repeaters of direction indicators, heating and electric drive; steering column with adjustable tilt and reach, multifunction steering wheel in leather braid, upholstery made of high quality fabric, dividing armrests front and rear; central locking, remote key, front and rear power windows, on-board computer and air conditioning. The multimedia system includes a full-color LCD monitor, a CD / MP3 player, 9 speakers, USB / AUX connectors (with iPod connectivity) and a Hands free system. In more expensive trim levels, standard equipment may include illuminated side steps, LED headlights and daytime running lights, cruise control, navigation system, premium audio system with 14 speakers, Optitron controls, electric seats, 2-zone or 3-zone climate control, the third row of seats with electric folding, electric sunroof and much more, including a wide list of auxiliary security systems. Land Cruiser Prado model 2014 model year offered three engine options. This is the familiar 2.7-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine 2TR-FE with a power of 163 hp. (246 Nm), 4.0-liter petrol V6 1GR-FE series with 282 hp (385 Nm), as well as a four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with a volume of 3 liters 1KD-FTV rated at 173 hp (410 Nm.). Since 2015, the latter has been replaced by a 2.8-liter "four" GD series, equipped with a compact turbocharger with variable geometry and direct injection Common Rail, operating at a pressure of 2200 bar. The technical highlight of the new engine is the step-by-step injection of fuel into the cylinders, which makes it possible to smoothly ignite diesel fuel in small portions, thereby reducing shock loads. The new engine has high efficiency (177 hp and 450 Nm) and with the new six-speed “automatic” provides “Prado” acceleration to 100 km / h in 12.7 seconds. Since 2015, the new “machine” has become available for other engines. Previously, all engines were equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission, and for a 2.7-liter engine, in addition to the 5-speed mechanics (remaining in the lineup), a 4-speed “automatic” was offered. Changes to the suspension settings of the upgraded Land Cruiser Prado have improved handling and comfort. The noise and vibration levels were reduced. In addition to permanent all-wheel drive with differential locks, LC Prado offers a number of high-tech “off-road” systems, including KDSS, a multi-terrain select system (paired with automatic transmission), and a slow-speed obstacle relief system move (Crawl Control). Another new electronic assistant is the trailer swing control system. Despite the fact that the front overhang of the 5-door model after restyling increased by 2 cm, the main geometric parameters of patency (angles of entry, exit and ramp) remained unchanged.

The standard set of Prado safety systems is presented by the following equipment: these are ABS + EBD systems, BAS emergency brake assist, directional stability system, TORSEN central limited slip differential, forced locking of the central differential; active front row head restraints, front and side airbags, curtain airbags, driver knee airbag, Isofix child restraint system. In more expensive trim levels, the above-mentioned innovative chassis management systems are used, as well as lane change assistants (including monitoring of blind spots), reverse gear and other functions aimed at improving the level of all-terrain vehicle safety.
