Sedan
Toyota Platz is a 4-door sedan designed on the basis of the Toyota Vitz model, which has introduced a new trend in the Toyota compact car sector. Platz appeared on the market in August 1999 - seven months later than Vitz. With its small size, the sedan is a fairly spacious car with a boot volume of 465 liters. Elements of the car, such as front door panels, front seats, wheels, are identical to the same elements of the Vitz model. The sedan also offers a similar Vitz range of engines of 1 liter, 1.3 liter and 1.5 liter with VVT-i system, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with Super ECT system.
The Toyota Platz sedan differs from the Vitz in few details. So it can be said that Platz is the same Vitz, only in a three-volume body with a separate large trunk. The initial configuration level corresponded to the standard version F (the hatchback had a basic model B). In the “base” there is a power steering, a steering wheel with vertical adjustment, an electric side mirror, central locking, power windows, air conditioning. However, Toyota also offered a simplified version of the “F E package”, devoid of some functions, such as power steering and power accessories. The top equipment was the 1.5 X S package, in which the sedan offered automatic air conditioning, a CD receiver, a remote key, additional storage space for small items and other equipment.  The range of Toyota Platz engines from 1999-2002 includes three powertrain options, the features of which are the presence of the VVT-i system. All engines are in-line four-cylinder DOHC type: 1SZ-FE (1.0 liter, 70 hp), 2NZ-FE (1.3 liter, 88 hp) and 1NZ-FE (1.5 liter, 110 liter .with.). For all, options were available with a mechanical or automatic transmission, and with a 1.3-liter engine, the Platz was equipped with a 4WD all-wheel drive system. In total - six modifications. Platz is considered a very economical car - on one liter of gasoline it was able to drive up to 16.6-21.5 km. The most suitable choice in terms of power is the 1NZ-FE engine. For example, in the 1.5 X S package model, the specific power is only 8.45 kg / hp, which is a very good indicator.

The chassis of the Platz sedan repeats that of the Vitz. Front suspension - suspension strut with coil spring, rear - torsion bar on springs, with the exception of all-wheel drive versions, where the rear axle is a continuous axle. Strength and reliability of the chassis does not cause any doubt. And compactness creates all the conditions for high maneuverability, even taking into account the fact that the sedan is almost half a meter longer than the hatchback. The dimensions of its body: 4145 x 1660 x 1500 mm (L x W x H). The dimensions of the passenger compartment are 1855 x 1380 x 1265. Several small suitcases can easily enter the trunk of the sedan, and by folding the back of the rear seat (in the basic configuration, in its entirety or at a ratio of 60:40 for more expensive ones), you can accommodate a long load.  With safety, Toyota Platz is doing well. Even in the simplest configuration, there were two airbags (driver and front passenger), anti-lock brakes and brake force distribution system, child seat fasteners, three-point seat belts.

Platz is a member of a family of compact cars, which includes not only the Vitz hatchback, but also the Funcargo minivan. The widespread prevalence of these models, their "ingenious simplicity", the absence of problems with spare parts create all the conditions for the successful operation of used cars, and the wide variety of copies offered on the market - for a confident choice of your taste and price.
