Toyota Succeed (like Toyota Probox) was created as a successor to the Toyota Corolla Van model and has been widely recognized as a commercial vehicle. Succeed is notable for its high environmental friendliness and reasonable price - these factors allowed Succeed to gain wide popularity also among young people and women. It was possible to draw general attention to Succeed largely due to the simplicity and unpretentious design - in front of the car, the silhouette, which conveys a feeling of confidence, and a light, no-frills body ensure the success of this car on the market. The Toyota Succeed lineup is divided into two versions: utilitarian (Van) and passenger (Wagon). The second ones offer a higher level of equipment - these models are indicated by the letter G in the body brand and are equipped only with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine in combination with an "automatic". Four-wheel drive available.
The main differences between Toyota Succeed and the Probox model are in bumpers, optics, and some equipment that was an option for Probox was installed in Succeed as standard. For example, all Succeed nominally have a rear wiper, which is already a big plus. The basic equipment of the Succeed Wagon “TX” includes electric mirrors with folding function, central locking with remote control, front electric windows, air conditioning, power steering, cup holders, and a sliding table. In more expensive versions, you can find all four power windows, a quite comfortable rear sofa with adjustable head restraints, 14-inch wheels instead of the base 13, factory-tinted rear windows, standard aluminum wheels, mirrors and door handles in body color, improved trim and upholstery seats. Under the hood of the Toyota Succeed Wagon is one of Toyota's most common engines - the 1.5-liter 1NZ-FE, which can be found on dozens of different Toyota models. This unit is one of the examples of simplicity and manufacturability. DOHC type design, electronic injection, variable valve timing system VVT-i, maximum power 105/109 hp (at 6000 rpm), maximum torque 138/141 Nm (at 4200 rpm). The engine block of the 1NZ-FE engine is aluminum, there is no possibility of bore cylinders, but with an increase in oil consumption due to natural wear and tear of the piston rings, you can try to get by with replacing them. A chain with reduced links when worn or poorly tensioned can jump from tooth to tooth, which will cause valves and pistons to meet. Key recommendations: timely service, use only high-quality oil.  The Succeed and Probox models are based on the NCP60 platform, on which the Vitz hatchback and the Platz sedan were previously created. The suspension is made according to the classical scheme for compact cars: in front there is a MacPherson strut, in the back - a beam on trailing arms with separated springs and shock absorbers, in all-wheel drive cars (V-Flex Fulltime 4WD) - a continuous axle. Ventilated disc brakes front, drum rear. The dimensions of the car body: length 4195 mm, width 1690 mm, height 1510 mm. Ground clearance 155 mm. The wheelbase is 2550 mm, the turning radius is 4.8-5.2 m. The load capacity of the machine is about 400 kg. Interior dimensions 1645 x 1405 x 1245 mm (L x W x H). The luggage compartment is quite roomy, with an almost square-shaped opening, the back of the rear seat folds up entirely. Depending on the position of the rear seat, the depth of separation is 1040/1810 mm; height / width 935/1420 mm, loading height 585 mm. As a safety standard, Toyota Succeed Wagon 2002-2013 has airbags for the driver and passenger, ABS with EBD (electronic brake force distribution) and a brake assist system. Adjustable head restraints at the front and rear contribute to better passenger safety. Since August 2005, all vehicles have been equipped with a manual headlight range adjustment mechanism; fog lamps have been installed on almost all standard equipment. An improvement since April 2012 includes the optional headrest and three-point seat belt for the central rear seat.

Toyota Succeed is an excellent example of a passenger-and-freight passenger car. For its purposes (household, small transportation) it is almost perfect. Equipping Succeed Wagon models is the best in the Probox / Succeed family, especially when it comes to full-featured versions. The car has a simple and reliable suspension, moderately stiff and with decent moves, and spare parts are quite common. A tangible drawback is the inability to fold the back seat in parts.
