The fifth-generation Toyota Vista sedan (V50) underwent the expected update two years after the start of production (the model has been produced since 1998). Changes affected the design of the grille, front bumper, fog lights. If the dorestayling version had headlights with yellow turn signals and taillights with a white stripe, then after updating the headlights are supplemented with white turn signals, and the taillights now have a yellow stripe. As for the power unit, Vista received an upgraded 1.8-liter 1ZZ-FE engine, the power of which increased from 130 to 136 “forces”. The two-liter engines 3S-FSE and 3S-FE retained the previous 145 and 135 hp, but in 2001 these engines were replaced by a new 1AZ-FSE of the same volume (150-152 hp), continuing the development of direct injection technology D4. Despite the fact that the Toyota Vista V50 is a sedan, it has capabilities similar to a minivan. Among the features of this car - a gearshift lever on the steering column, a spacious interior, large doors and a significant height above head. All this provides a very comfortable fit. Another salient feature of the sedan is the digital instrument cluster located in the center of the front panel. In top-end configurations, its left part with a multifunctional monochrome display replaces the multimedia and navigation screen. “In the base” there are electric control of mirrors and door windows, climate control. More expensive equipment will offer a folding back seat, a remote key, a CD player and a CD changer. After restyling in 2000, changes in the cabin are minor. For all models, the optional “double” front passenger seat is offered, increasing capacity up to 6 people.
