The second generation compact car Honda Fit started in 2007. The new body has received a slightly modified front end, more “convex” due to the front windshield racks pushed forward, so that the silhouette of the car looks very fresh. In addition, the wheelbase was increased and the layout of the units was changed, the interior dimensions benefited from this, and the huge windshield further enhances the feeling of free space inside the car. And of course, these changes could not but improve visibility. The Fit gas tank still has a central location, and the trunk has a decent supply of volume and a two-level floor, the resulting space under which can be used to carry luggage. The position of the seats is adjustable in various directions.
The second generation Fit, it can be said, consolidated the success of the previous generation, which literally broke into the market and became one of the most popular models in the domestic market. The number of complete sets has expanded, including due to the offer of three transmission options, and not two, as before. It is possible to note the appearance of the sports version of the RS car, which differs in suspension settings and the status and decoration of the interior and exterior. Gradually increasing the level of equipment of basic configurations led to the appearance of modifications G Smart Selection. The model with a 1.3-liter engine received the Honda Smart Key System remote access system, as well as a contactless fare payment system on ETC highways. In more expensive trim levels appeared cruise control and heated front seats. In May 2010, Honda released special versions of Fit 1.3G called She's and Sporty Selection. The first will offer a keyless entry and launch system, exclusive seats with black upholstery and a leather steering wheel with pink stitching. Sporty Selection is a black interior, leather steering wheel, discharge headlights with auto-leveling function, 15-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler. Both versions relied on colored electric mirrors, tinted rear windows and an anti-allergenic filter.

The car is equipped with 1.3- and 1.5-liter engines of the new generation with the i-VTEC system with a capacity of 100 and 120 hp. respectively. Both motors are aggregated by a new development stepless variator with a torque converter, which allows for low fuel consumption - its efficiency is estimated at 24 km / l and 19.6 km / l depending on the motor. Instead of the variator, models can also be equipped with a mechanical 5-speed gearbox. Execution with an automatic 5-speed gearbox implies the presence of an all-wheel drive transmission.

The Honda Fit suspension has not been structurally changed. Front - suspension struts. Rear - De-Dion suspension for all-wheel drive modifications and continuous beam for front-wheel drive. The changes affected only the geometry of the nodes and suspension settings, designed to improve the handling of the car and stability in motion. The basic versions were equipped with 14-inch wheels, 15-inch alloy wheels were used for more expensive trim levels, but, for example, for the one-and-a-half-liter RS version, a shoe was already offered for 16 inches with a dimension of 185/55. The car has a good turning radius of 4, 7. The car has a roomy trunk for its class, it is possible to fold the back seat in parts and increase the available volume. The standard set of Honda Fit 2007-2010 includes the following set of systems and safety features: front airbags (driver and passenger), side airbags (option), ABS, Brake Assist and EBD systems, seat belts with pretensioners and tension force limiters, stiffeners in the doorway. In June 2008, the RS Highway Edition version went on sale, which standardly offered the installation of an electronic stability control system VSA. Compared with the previous generation, the car managed to achieve even better results in crash tests.

The Honda Fit has definitely contributed to new ideas about how a compact city car should look. If at the time the first generation appeared on our market, buyers were just looking at this car, then the second generation Fit was the expected hit - the model has a lot of fans among both sexes. Today it is one of the most popular cars in the secondary segment, the asset of which is excellent dynamics, compactness, but at the same time, a sufficient supply of space inside. Its weaknesses are usually called weak metal and paintwork, budget finishing materials, inconvenient replacement of candles, low and stiff suspension.
