The name of this car stands for "Hi-rider Revolutionary Vehicle", where the last two words are understandable without translation (a revolutionary car), but as for the "Hi-rider" - this is, of course, a play on words, and with many options for the meanings of the latter - "Rider" ("rider"), and even "tall". And this is really all about him - about the Honda HR-V, a car that can cause a storm of emotions. His appearance evokes enthusiastic feelings, a comfortable, pretty interior - thoughts about comfort and convenience. It is worth paying special attention to wide glazing, large wheels, compact body, high landing and short overhangs. This car was simply created in order to wander between the city and the suburbs, allowing owners to escape from the stuffy streets to the element of free roads and natural surroundings.
This Honda HR-V parquet SUV is equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine, the power of which in a simple version is 105 liters. with. (in the engine number is designated as W1), and in the VTEC modification, that is, with variable valve timing, it is already 124 hp. (W5). For a simpler engine modification, two types of transmission were offered: a 5-speed manual gearbox and a continuously variable automatic variator (CVT). This transmission, first used on an all-wheel drive vehicle, provides smooth and at the same time quite frisky acceleration. The car is equipped with short-stroke suspensions: MacPherson strut in front and a rigid cross beam with Panhard bar and two trailing arms on each side at the rear. Both front and rear stabilizer bars are used. In the transmission of an all-wheel drive vehicle modification, there is no downshift transmission and there are no locks. At the same time, the Honda HR-V is revolutionary here, and is notable for the all-wheel drive of the original design. Its peculiarity lies in the fact that under normal driving conditions the car is front-wheel drive, but as soon as the front wheels begin to slip, the multi-plate hydraulic coupling connects the rear ones. This is done without the use of any electronics and is achieved due to the fact that in the DPS all-wheel drive control system (DualPump System, a kind of transfer case), pumps of the same capacity are installed, between which oil is constantly circulating along two highways. As soon as the difference in the speeds of rotation of the bridges appears, pressure rises in one of the lines and the hydraulics block the coupling.

High safety of the Honda HR-V is ensured by the fact that the anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic brake force distributor (EBD) and auxiliary braking system (BAS) are included in the basic equipment of the car. In addition, there are two airbags, seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters. If you do not take into account the individual nuances arising from the compactness of the Honda HR-V, in the bottom line - there are many advantages. First of all, it should be noted the high reliability of this machine made in Japan. This is a very unpretentious, maneuverable and economical car with a sturdy suspension and reliable engines. An excellent combination of price and quality is also important. The left-hand drive version is less prevalent on the market than the HR-V with right-hand drive, but the demand for this particular variation is probably even higher - this car hardly stagnates on sale. Great interest in the model was also noted by women - its characteristics make it possible to confidently use city parking lots, or even take children and a husband to the nature. So it is not surprising that HR-V enjoys well-deserved attention of outdoor enthusiasts, especially all-wheel drive versions with excellent cross-country ability in their class.
