Wagon
In 1987, sales of the fourth generation Mazda Capella started. A car was produced in four body styles: a new station wagon was added to the traditional hatchback, sedan and coupe. Its release in 1988 began on the new GV platform, while the rest of the bodies were produced on the GD platform. The car was called Capella Cargo.
The Mazda Capella wagon had a similar front design, but received unique taillights. The Mazda Capella station wagon was distinguished by two features: a roof rising in the middle and a seven-seater saloon available on individual modifications, which at that time was a rarity, and today seven-seater cars are produced mainly in minivan or SUV bodies. Five-seater versions featured a large boot volume. For the transportation of oversized cargo rails were provided. The rear window has a curved shape to increase visibility. The car was recognized as the best station wagon of the time.

In 1994, the release of a new generation of sedan began. At the same time, they decided to modernize the station wagon. As a result, the updated Mazda Capella station wagon was called the Capella Wagon. The design of the front of the station wagon, which was borrowed from the sedan, has changed. The roof of the car became flat, as in other versions of the body. In 1996, the Mazda Capella station wagon received a new front bumper with already integrated fog lights. Production of this generation wagon lasted until 1997.

Initially, only 1.8 liter (97 hp) gasoline engines were installed on the Mazda Capella station wagon, which were discontinued in 1992. In 1990, two-liter engines with a capacity of 82, 145 and 150 horsepower were presented. Two years later, two-liter engines with 115 hp became available. In 1996, the last update of the engine line occurred: two-liter engines were added, developing 88 and 165 hp.

Combined fuel consumption for diesel versions of the station wagon is 3.9 - 5.0 liters. Gasoline modifications consume 7.6 - 10.5 liters of fuel. The capacity of the fuel tank is 60 liters.

Universal Mazda Capella is equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission or five-speed manual. Modifications were produced with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Car suspension - suspension struts with stabilizers. In some versions the limited slip differential is available. Auto - disc brakes (ventilated front mounted).

Different versions of the Mazda Capella station wagon differed in length and width. So, the length of the car could be 4590 and 4690 mm, width - 1690 mm, height - 1465 mm in seven-seater versions and 1525 mm - in five-seater. The wheelbase is common for all modifications - 2575 mm. The vehicle's ground clearance ranged from 160 to 175 mm.

Mazda Capella station wagon was produced in the complete sets GL-X, SX, SV, FX, GT. The GL-X version included a power steering, power side mirrors, a sunroof, an adjustable steering column, power windows, and a cassette player. Trim was made of fabric. Armchairs had lateral support. The hatch was also installed on SX versions.

Options SV differed in the presence of mounts for child seats, driver's airbag and climate control. The FX version, in addition to the above, included front fog lights. The GT did not have an airbag, but leather steering wheel braid and a CD player (as an option) were available.
