Legnum was created as a Galant station wagon in 1996. The name of this car comes from the word "regnum", which is translated from Latin as "royal power", "royal rank". The goal of Legnum was to preserve the style of premium station wagons. Due to the fact that the height of the Legnum compared to the Galant increased by 30 mm, its interior has become more comfortable. In addition, Legnum inherited a convenient luggage compartment from the Galant. The prestige of the car has also increased due to the engines installed on it. While the Galant mainly used the 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder engine of the GDI series, V-shaped 6-cylinder engines of 2 and 2.5 liters are installed here. Like the Galant, there are four-wheel drive modifications VR-4 equipped with a V-shaped 6-cylinder DOHC twin cam engine with a volume of 2.5 liters and a capacity of 280 liters. with.
