The Minica Toppo is the result of the addition of a large cargo space to the compact Minica model. A distinctive feature of Minica Toppo is the front section of the body in the style of single-volume, borrowed from Minica and has increased comfort. This car was ahead of its time and became the forerunner of the era of the so-called high station wagons with rich interior space. Interestingly, the initial goal of creating cars of this class was the development of “comfortable” commercial vans. A bit later this direction developed and resulted, for example, in the appearance of such a compact model as the Suzuki Wagon R. However, even before the appearance of the Wagon R, and also after the start of its mass production, the Mitsubishi concern already produced the Minica Toppo, the appearance of which combined the features of a sedan and one-volume. The 2nd generation Minica Toppo was launched in 1993. An unusual asymmetric arrangement of doors and windows has become an individual feature of this machine: there is one door on the driver (right) side, and two on the passenger (left) side. Of course, there is a 2-door version of the body. The mechanism for opening and closing the rear door consists of two parts (the lower part opens separately, the upper, glass separately). The vehicle is equipped with an in-line 4-cylinder SOHC engine with a power of 50 or 55 hp, as well as an in-line 4-cylinder turbocharged DOHC engine with a capacity of 64 hp.
