Mitsubishi Outlander belongs to the category of sports crossovers focused on the urban environment. The car offers salons with two rows of seats (five seats) and three rows of seats (seven seats). In Japan, he replaced the Mitsubishi Airtrek, and abroad, this model became the second generation Outlander. The car uses unique technology. Firstly, a lightweight housing of increased rigidity was used. Secondly, due to the optimization of the design of body elements using a completely new platform, it was possible to better place noise insulation materials, ensuring silence and comfort. Aluminum panels are used in the roof - to facilitate weight and provide a lower center of gravity, in order to, in turn, improve driving performance.
In the domestic market, not only all-wheel drive, but also all-wheel drive versions of the Mitsubishi Outlander were offered, which together had a great variety of equipment. Top modifications have a leather interior, electric seat heating, a remote key, starting the engine with a button, Paddle shift mode, where gear changes are possible using the petals on the steering wheel. In addition, more expensive versions were equipped with a premium Rockford Fosgate audio system. In 2007, the 30G and 30MS versions with a 3-liter engine appeared in a series of configurations aimed at customers with high demands. These models are equipped with a chrome grille and side sills. Later, the three-liter versions received chrome side window moldings and a chrome trim on the tailgate. However, in connection with the struggle for environmental performance, a three-liter engine was soon abandoned.

Initially, the car was equipped with a 4-cylinder in-line MIVEC engine with a volume of 2.4 liters, equipped with a continuously variable CVT transmission. In 2007, the car acquired a three-liter SOHC24 V6 engine, previously offered for the North American specification. This engine, also using the MIVEC system (variable valve timing and valve lift heights), was installed in combination with a 6-speed automatic transmission with sports mode and the ability to shift paddle shifters. In 2009, further improvements took place: the CVT control method was revised, driving resistance was reduced, fuel consumption was reduced, the 3 liter engine was removed from the factory program. As a result, not only single-wheel drive, but also four-wheel drive models of the car comply with Eco Car standards and are subject to preferential taxation. And since January 2010, the 2.4-liter engine, which stood on most modifications, was replaced by a 2-liter engine with lower fuel consumption. The engine with a volume of 2.4 liters remained only on all-wheel drive models. The fuel consumption of 2-liter front-wheel drive versions in the 10-15 mode reached 7.6 liters per 100 km, all-wheel drive - 7.9 liters per 100 km. Front - suspension struts, rear - multi-link suspension. Improving the power steering has a positive effect on the behavior of the car at medium and high speeds. On the four-wheel drive Outlander, an electronically controlled system provides automatic torque distribution. Using the switch in the car, you can use front-wheel drive (2WD), four-wheel drive (4WD Auto) and four-wheel drive with a central differential lock 4WD-Lock. The safety equipment of Mitsubishi Outlander in the maximum configuration includes front and side airbags, airbags-curtains. From electronic systems there are systems: ABS (anti-lock), BAS (auxiliary braking system), ESP (electronic stability control), TCS (anti-slip). As well as adaptive road lighting (AFS). For convenience and safe driving in urban cramped conditions, a rear-view camera and a parking camera are installed.
