Japanese station wagon Nissan Avenir (W10) was developed based on the Nissan Primera. In the domestic market, it was offered as a larger alternative to the Nissan Wingroad / Nissan AD. The name is derived from the French "future, future." Available in a comfortable passenger version and as a commercial wagon (Cargo). Passenger models were equipped with two types of gasoline engines: 1.8 liter and 2 liter, on the "mechanics" or with an "automatic". All versions have front-wheel drive, and with a 2.0-liter 140-horsepower gasoline engine in combination with an automatic transmission, an all-wheel drive transmission with ATTESA's proprietary torque distribution system was available.
 The passenger version of the Nissan Avenir differs from the Avenir Cargo station wagon of the same name with improved equipment. Already in the basic configuration “Type ei” there are electric mirrors and power windows, a steering wheel with vertical adjustment, comfortable separate folding rear seats. More expensive equipment will offer roof rails, colored bumpers, a rear wiper, fog lights, a tachometer in the dashboard, velor upholstery, an armrest on the rear sofa and even a sunroof. In addition, for the top si trim levels, additional sporty pack and touring pack equipment packages were offered that improved the appearance and interior, as well as the functionality of the machine, depending on preferences. The travel package included aluminum rims, fog lights and headlight washers. Sports package - body kit, fog lights, headlight washer and HA.

 Nissan Avenir W10 in its comfortable modification was equipped with gasoline engines SR18Di (1.8 l, 110 hp) and SR20DE (2.0 l, 140 hp). Both engines are in-line "fours" consuming AI-92, AI-95 gasoline. Its consumption in 10/15 mode is 7.7-9.8 l / 100 km for a less powerful unit and 8.6-12.3 l / 100 km for a more powerful unit. In the mode of 60 km / h, the flow rates are 4.6-5.3 l / 100 km and 5-6.5 l / 100 km, respectively. The fuel tank has a capacity of 60 liters. Transmission - mechanical 5-speed or 4-band “automatic”.

 In the W10 generation, the Nissan Avenir has an independent front suspension, MacPherson strut with stabilizer bar. The rear suspension is semi-dependent (torsion beam) for front-wheel drive vehicles, and all-wheel drive modifications (with the rear axle permanently connected via a viscous clutch) are equipped with rear dependent suspension on springs (PNW10 body series). All models have power steering, ventilated disc brakes at the front, and rear brakes with drum or disc brakes. Standard tires 185 / 70R13 in the more expensive versions were replaced by wheels 195 / 65R14. Dimensions Nissan Avenir: length 4460 mm, width and height 1695 and 1490 mm. The turning radius is 5.4 m. When looking at the profile, you can notice that the Avenir has a decently extended hood and a rather voluminous trunk, but the dimensions of the cabin are not amazing - 1755 mm in length, 1435 mm in width, height 1190 mm. But the transformation capabilities inherent in the car make it quite functional and convenient to travel.

 For the safety of the Nissan Avenir W10 of the first years of release (1990-1992), not many measures have been taken. The station wagon has three-point belts (except for the central passenger at the rear - it has a belt with a coil), safety design of the steering column and panels, side stiffeners. For some models, ABS was optionally offered. The ATTESA all-wheel drive system has the advantage of electronic dynamic redistribution of torque between the front and rear axles of the car, which provides better handling and maneuverability compared to front-wheel drive modifications.

 Nissan Avenir was conceived as a "universal" version of the Primera model (P10). The car has a reliable stiff suspension and a large, easy-to-use luggage compartment. Engines are unpretentious and reliable, but not economical. The ground clearance is small, and the body is not well protected from corrosion.
