Sedan
This model separated from the Nissan Cedric / Gloria Cima series three years after its appearance. The second-generation car, which debuted in 1991, looked more solid than its predecessor. Maybe this happened because a transition was made from a hardtop body without racks to a sedan whose doors already came with window frames. Initially (1991-1993), the model was equipped with only one engine - a modification of the power unit from the Infiniti Q45 with a displacement reduced to 4.1 liters (270 liters. p.), which was combined with an automatic 4-speed transmission. Drive rear or full (since September 1992).
During the years of the car's creation, Japanese automakers did not hesitate to ostentatious luxury, which, in particular, demonstrates the interior of the Nissan Cima Y32. The car interior is replete with high-quality velor, all panels are made of soft plastic. Naturally, not the “poorest” equipment has leather upholstery - it is very delicate brown. The machine’s equipment list included the Multi-AV system, which worked with VISC beacons, a system for the overall coordination of light, rear comfort seats, a personal air conditioning system and other amenities.

At first, the Nissan Cima had to borrow a V-shaped 8-cylinder engine from the Infiniti Q45 model, whose working volume was 4.5 liters. He shortened the stroke of the piston and, thus, reduced the volume to 4.1 liters. In this form, he could develop power up to 270 hp. This unit was also installed on the Leopard / Infiniti J30 model of the same Y32 family. The engine turned out to be very reliable and resourceful, its timing chain practically does not cause problems. The unit is equipped with phase shifters and individual ignition coils. In the rear-wheel drive version, the sedan spent 14.1 liters of gasoline per 100 km in 10/15 mode and 7.1 liters per hundred in 60 km / h mode. For the four-wheel drive version, these figures were 14.9 l / 100 km and 7.8 l / 100 km.

Nissan Cima is built on the same Y32 platform as the eighth generation Cedric / Gloria, but with a 55 mm longer wheelbase. Front suspension rack type, rear - multi-link. On a Limited L category car, the hydraulic suspension with adjustable dynamic travel (“active suspension”) is an active suspension with microprocessor-controlled hydraulic drives on each wheel, similar to the Infiniti Q45. Such a system, less capricious than pneumatics, proved to be excellent - the car is perfectly controlled, rolls are extinguished in corners, smoothness under normal conditions deserves very high marks. In 1992, the all-wheel drive S-four series, equipped with the Attesa E-TS system, was added. Car dimensions: length 4930 mm, width 1780 and height 1435 mm. Wheelbase 2815, turning radius 5.6 m. Dimensions of the saloon: 1960 x 1490 x 1160 (L x W x H). It is worth noting that the car was created in accordance with the main concept, which sounds like “the same comfort for each of the four.” There is enough space for the central passenger on the rear sofa, but the transmission tunnel interferes. The trunk of the sedan is large in volume and quite deep.

The car Nissan Cima Y32 in 1991 received the most advanced security systems at that time, which can be found far from every contemporary. The sedan is equipped with a driver's pillow, anti-lock braking system and traction control - only in the basic configuration of “Type I” these options were offered for an extra charge.

For all its splendor, the second-generation Nissan Cima in the domestic market for used Japanese cars was somewhat underestimated and is considered to be exclusive in its way. The closest comparisons beg with the Toyota Celsior (XF10). Both of these cars are one of the best in the segment of the right-hand drive second-hand 90s, however, it is fair to say that potential buyers of cars of this class were more oriented to the left wheel, even if it was about the Japanese “branches” represented by Infiniti and Lexus. Advantages of the Nissan Cima are softness, a very decent level of comfort, a solid and noble appearance in the British style. In addition to the high tax, the disadvantages are high fuel consumption, difficulties with the availability of some spare parts.
