Nissan Kix - an analogue of the classic all-wheel drive SUV Mitsubishi Pajero Mini, which appeared as a result of OEM-cooperation between Mitsubishi and Nissan. However, from the Pajero Mini this model is distinguished by elements of the exterior and interior. It is equipped with painted bumpers and a spare wheel with a cover of the original design. The interior is made in a sporty style, black color prevails in the decoration. As noted, KIX is a coined name that combines the word Kicks (slang word for pleasure and enthusiasm) and “X” (unknown number). The Nissan Kix has a 64-horsepower turbo engine with 4 cylinders and an Easy Select 4WD plug-in all-wheel drive system. A wide wheelbase and a sufficiently large clearance provide excellent driving both in the city and on the road. High landing ensures good visibility.
Nissan Kix was delivered in two trim levels: the base RS and the more expensive RX. In both cases, the buyer received air conditioning with a cabin filter, audio training, electric mirrors and power windows, fog lights. The RX model was equipped with electrically folding mirrors, a driver's seat with height adjustment and heating, 15-inch aluminum wheels, protective tinting and roof rails for a fee. The fabric upholstery of the seats includes a plain version of gray-blue material. But the palette of body colors was quite diverse: six options, including a particularly emphasizing off-road style, dark gray metallic (Medium Gray).  If the Mitsubishi Pajero Mini could be equipped with a naturally aspirated or turbocharged 0.7-liter 4-cylinder 4A30 engine, then for Nissan Kix only one version of the SOHC-type unit was offered with 16 valves, a turbocharger and an intercooler, which produced a maximum of 64 horsepower (at 6000 rpm min) and 88 Nm of torque (at 4000 rpm). The engine was combined with a 5-speed "mechanics" or 4-speed "automatic". The all-wheel drive system allows you to easily switch between 2WD and 4WD modes and is equipped with a two-stage transfer case with a lower gear.

This small SUV has an independent front suspension and rear dependent. It has excellent permeability parameters: a large ground clearance of 195 mm, an angle of entry of 38 degrees and an exit of 46 degrees. The driver's seat is characterized by a viewing level at about 1.4 meters above the ground. The wheelbase of the Nissan Kix is 2280 mm. The value of the turning radius is 4.8 meters. The car belongs to the Kei class, so its dimensions are small. The length of the SUV is only 3395 mm with a width of 1475 and a height of 1635 mm, and the curb weight is 850-990 kg. The interior does not seem spacious: length 1665 mm, width 1220 mm, height 1210 mm. The folding rear seats can be used to increase the small trunk. Nissan Kix standard equipment includes two airbags, an anti-lock braking system with braking assistance, three-point belts with a pretensioner and a limiter, built-in safety bar doors, a child seat fastening mechanism, an immobilizer. A rear wiper is installed as standard, providing visibility in bad weather. In the performance of the RX there are head restraints on the rear seats, which are absent "in the base."

As a "brother" of the Mitsubishi Pajero Mini under the Nissan brand, the car was produced until the summer of 2012. This is a great example of a compact SUV with a full four-wheel drive transmission, equally convenient both in the country and in the metropolis. There are drawbacks like "goat", a simple and cramped interior, a small engine with a small resource. By the way, Nissan used the name Kix for the new model, which appeared in 2016, but this is a completely different car: a five-door crossover developed for different markets.
