The first generation Nissan March (K10) was launched in Japan in 1982 (in Europe it was sold as a Micra, fully justifying its compact size by name). At that time, Nissan paid great attention to delivering compact Light class cars to the market. From the very beginning, Nissan March used its own modern developments regarding the arrangement of wheels, engines, etc. And the famous Italian master Giorgetto Giugiaro had a hand in developing the external design. There are various variations of this model. In 1985, released a modification with a turbo engine. In 1987 - a model with a canvas top. And the last version of the model with the type of super turbo engine, which contains the main design changes, was launched in 1989. This Nissan March is equipped with a 4-cylinder in-line engine with SOHC type of gas distribution, as in the March R model, as well as a supercharger and a turbocharger - impressive 110 horses for the 930 cc engine allowed the hatchback to accelerate from zero to “hundreds” in just 7. 7 seconds  Nissan March took its rightful place among compact cars in Japan due to the fact that, although it has a small body, the functional space of the cabin, however, is spacious. The interior makes a good impression with high quality finishes: while in simple trim levels you can still see bare painted metal inside, then in versions more expensive it is everywhere covered with decorative panels, and colored inserts are used in the upholstery of the seats and side panels. Many options were designed for a variety of people - from the unassuming buyers of the basic versions, where even a rear wiper was offered as an option, to those who would like to get a car with an adjustable steering column, radio, electric windows, an optional mechanical sunroof. The sports version of Nissan March is distinguished by seats with increased lateral support (including even the rear row), a leather steering wheel, standard fog lights and a rear spoiler, an advanced instrument cluster, an additional voltmeter and a boost sensor on a separate panel along with a quartz watch, as well as air conditioning and other equipment. Engines on the first-generation Nissan March were installed on SOHC gasoline 4-cylinder engines with a displacement of 0.9 l (930 cc) or 1.0 l (987 cc). The most modest in power 1.0-liter atmospheric unit MA10S has a reserve of 52 hp. It was equipped with a 4-speed manual gearbox or a 3-band automatic. MA10ET Turbo 1.0 Series Turbo engines have a reserve of 76 hp. and equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission or 3-band automatic. The same transmission options were also offered for the 1.0 Super turbo lighters, and the 1.0 R modification provided for the presence of only a manual gearbox (5MKPP). Nissan March was considered a very economical car - fuel consumption in 10/15 mode was 5.1-6.5 l / 100 km for the base engine and 5.6-8.2 for turbocharged engines. The capacity of the fuel tank is 40 liters.

Nissan March has an independent front suspension (suspension struts such as MacPherson strut) and a rear semi-independent. Front-wheel drive It is equipped with steering gear-type steering (in more expensive trim levels with hydraulic booster), front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The hatchback was offered in 5- and 3-door versions and has compact body dimensions: length - 3785 mm, width - 1560 mm, height - 1395 mm. Wheelbase - 2300 mm. The minimum turning radius, depending on the modification, is 4.4-4.7 m, making Nissan March easy to deploy in a narrow space. The car can be equipped with wheels R12 or R13. The trunk of the Nissan March is small (only 180 liters), but it can be increased due to the folding back of the rear seat.

The first-generation Nissan March safety level meets the requirements of its time. The car has a safety steering column with hydraulic booster (option), three-point seat belts in the front seats (lap seat belts are provided for rear passengers). For the R and Super turbo versions, a limited slip differential (with a manual transmission) was offered.

Nissan March was distinguished by high quality production. The first-generation cars — easily recognizable by their angular design — can still be found on the roads, including “hot” three-door “lighters” with turbo engines. The main disadvantage of this generation is the age (but the prices are more than affordable). The interior of the March K10 is cramped (not much longer in length than any key-car), the rear seat is uncomfortable, especially in the three-door versions - this defect was partially corrected in the next generation, which was released in 1992.
