It is more revving than its two-liter “brother” (maximum power corresponds to 6000 rpm versus 5200 rpm for MR20DE), and the torque is higher (230 Nm against 200). Both engines are equipped with either a manual gearbox or a CVT. But on the X-Trail GT version, instead of the gasoline turbocharged engine, which was put on the previous generation, now the two-liter M9R turbodiesel is used, the power of which is 173 liters. sec., and torque - 360 Nm. The engine's torque is so high that the owner does not even need to change gears once again. This advanced engine with the latest exhaust gas treatment system is very demanding on fuel quality and comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission or manual transmission.

 Nissan X-Trail suspension is independent. Ahead - shock absorber struts, rear - multi-link suspension. At the same time, the front suspension is mounted on a more rigid subframe and has a stabilizer bar of greater diameter, and the rear shock absorbers got a greater inclination, which allowed to increase the size of the luggage compartment. On all-wheel drive versions of the improved handling of the X-Trail, the All Mode 4x4-i intelligent system contributes to effectively distributing torque between the front and rear axles, so you can feel confident on a wet and icy road.  The safety level of the Nissan X-Trail is quite high. The car is equipped as standard with many electronic systems such as anti-lock braking system (ABS with EBD), auxiliary braking system (BAS), electronic stability control (ESP), traction control (TCS).
