The updated fifth generation Subaru Legacy (BM) is introduced as a 2013 model. Restyling has brought some changes to the appearance of the cars, although this applies mainly to the front end. For example, the false radiator grille has been corrected, the shape of the front bumper is especially noticeable in the cutouts for the fog lights, the shape of the fog lights themselves has changed, but the contours of the head lighting equipment remained the same, but the internal filling of the headlights has changed. In addition, the design of the rims and the shape of the side mirrors have changed. The rear of the car has not changed. Thus, the Legacy rejuvenated the exterior a bit and, according to the developers, the car began to look "more sporty." There are also changes in the interior, for example, instead of the usual "washer" of the SI Drive system, you can now use the buttons on the steering wheel to select the operating mode of the motor, and a button for the electromechanical parking brake has appeared. The Subaru Legacy station wagon offers the buyer a high level of equipment: these are 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels (option), a light sensor, a rain sensor, fog lights, heated side mirrors and turn signal repeaters, xenon headlights with auto-corrector and washers. The Legacy salon will delight the owner with such functions as: heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, cruise control; multifunction steering wheel and tilt and reach steering column, driver's seat with electric adjustment, audio system with 4.3-inch color display, CD / MP3-player. The equipment of more expensive configurations includes a keyless entry and engine start system, a dashboard with a 3.5-inch color information display, air deflectors for second-row passengers, and an electric sunroof.

Independent Subaru Legacy suspension (McPherson front, double wishbone rear) provides a smooth ride and stability on the road. The longitudinal position of the engine in relation to the transmission has reduced the lateral body roll and ensured optimal weight distribution. As a result, a low center of gravity and excellent weight distribution allow the Legacy to maneuver confidently at high speeds. The Symmetrical AWD system gives the car an additional advantage over mono-drive cars - it transfers torque to all wheels of the car with maximum efficiency, ensuring consistently high traction, stability and safety. The Legacy sedan is equipped with the most modern active and passive safety systems. These are front and side cushions, as well as curtain type cushions; seat belt pretensioners and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. The basic set of active systems includes ABS, electronic brake force distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist (BA) and brake pedal priority. Dynamic Stability Control (VDC) is responsible for driving safety in difficult road conditions, and, as the manufacturer notes, endows the car with sporty reflexes, while improved suspension stiffness and adaptive steering provide the necessary agility. The Hill Start Assist helps the vehicle to successfully start up an incline of 5% or more.
