Officially delivered to Russia, Toyota Camry was offered in Comfort, Elegance, Prestige and Luxury trim levels. The simplest basic Comfort model on the “mechanics” has separate climate control, a CD player, heated mirrors, rain and light sensors and fabric upholstery. Options "Comfort" with a 5-speed automatic transmission is equipped with retractable headlight washers. The Elegance equipment has leather seats with electric driver's seat and electric heating. In Russia, the car was offered with a 2.4-liter in-line 4-cylinder engine 2AZ-FE with a volume of 2.4 liters with a 5-speed manual transmission or 5-speed automatic transmission, as well as with a V-shaped 6-cylinder engine 2GR-FE with a 3.5-liter engine with 6-speed automatic transmission. The first motor is a modernized power unit of the previous generation, with a modified exhaust system, thanks to which it was possible to increase power to 167 liters. with. and at the same time slightly reduce fuel consumption. The 2GR-FE engine (277 hp) is installed on a fairly large number of Toyota and Lexus models, and the technical and operational parameters make it one of the most reliable power units.

 One of the advantages of Camry has always been the reliability and comfort of the suspension. The design and its type are unchanged - independent, on springs, with MacPherson struts. If compared with the previous generation, then because of the increased base, the new model is somewhat lost in maneuverability, but has better stability at speeds. If we talk about the "mechanics" and the basic 5-speed automatic, then we can note their fairly high reliability. As for the 6-speed “automatic” that comes with the V6, taking into account the very high torque of the “six” (346 Nm), amateurs “set on fire” may eventually encounter problems of the “automatic” itself. So even with such an engine, the Camry is still more designed for a sedate and solid ride. Its power is a guaranteed guarantee of longevity, and an ultramodern transmission provides convenience and economy.

 In terms of safety, Toyota Camry shows a very high level. All Camry 2006 model years are equipped with standard ABS, EBD, electronic brake force distribution and emergency brake booster.
