Toyota Gaia is a minivan with three rows of seats, which in its characteristics is very close to the Toyota Ipsum model. However, the interior, the functional passenger space of the cabin and the capacity of the Gaia trunk make it possible to claim that it belongs to cars of a slightly higher class than Ipsum.
Gaia entered the market in 1998. She inherited the engine and drive from Ipsum; Gaia was initially equipped with a 4-cylinder 2-liter gasoline engine or 2.2-liter turbodiesel, as well as front-wheel or all-wheel drive. After upgrading the model in April 2001, Gaia began to be equipped with a more environmentally friendly and economical 2-liter engine with a D4 injection system and only front-wheel drive. A characteristic feature of the exterior of Gaia can be called four headlights of different shapes and rectangular brake lights. During restyling, the shape of the grille and bumper was slightly changed.
