In early August 2004, sales of upgraded versions of Toyota Noah and Toyota Voxy cars began in Japan. The design of the bumper and fog lamps has changed, the radiator grille has been updated. At the back are new red combo lights. The front of the restyled Toyota Noah is decorated with new discharge and halogen headlights with the ability to adjust the angle of the light beam. Moreover, on cars with discharge headlights, the angle of illumination is automatically adjusted, and on cars with halogen - manually. The adjustment button is conveniently located next to the driver’s hand. The engine remained the same with a slight increase in power, but the minivan received a new Super CVT-i continuously variable transmission instead of the “automatic machine”.
After restyling, Noah boasts new trim materials, a changed center console and instrument cluster. Attention is paid to the practicality and rational use of space. For example, a new five-seater “YY” complete set has appeared with two rows of seats and a double-sex system - car enthusiasts will surely appreciate the multi-functional flooring consisting of several sections. The “side seat lift-up” option offers a seven-seater configuration with a side lift seat for disabled people. Many complete sets are offered. You can especially highlight the special version of the X Special Edition, which appeared in 2006. The package includes side sliding doors with electric drive and anti-pinch function, multi-position rear seats with a built-in table, discharge headlights, an optitron dashboard, a windshield with a dimming strip, and side windows with a water-repellent coating. Inside, the driver will also find a steering wheel with inserts made of genuine leather and wood-like, as well as similar decorative inserts on the dashboard, giving a special touch. On the first-generation Toyota Noah from 2004-2007, the 2.0-liter 1AZ-FSE 4-cylinder engine with the DOHC type of gas distribution and the D-4 direct injection system continued to be installed. The engine is complemented by a new exhaust gas cleaning system that complies with 2005 standards. Power now reaches a value of 155 horsepower (at 6000 rpm), the torque is 192 Nm (at 4000 rpm). Instead of a 4-speed automatic transmission, a CVT-i CVT is installed as standard equipment. As for the drive, you can still choose models with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. In the first case, the car is capable of driving up to 14.2 km on one liter of gasoline (consumption is approximately 7 l / 100 km), in an all-wheel drive version - up to 12.6 km (7.9 l / 100 km). The fuel tank has a capacity of 60 liters. The Toyota Noah chassis includes an independent MacPherson strut front suspension. Behind - semi-independent suspension (torsion beam). On some versions of Noah, an electronically controlled suspension is installed. Front ventilated disc brakes, rear drum brakes. The car is equipped with power steering. In 4WD versions, the ATC (Active Torque Control) system is used - a permanent front-wheel drive, without an interaxle differential, the rear wheels are connected and the torque is automatically distributed by an electromechanical coupling (when the "AUTO" button on the panel is pressed). The dimensions of the body of the minivan: length 4580-4625 mm, width 1695 mm, height 1850 mm. The wheelbase is 2825 mm, the minimum turning radius is 5.5 m. Noah is very roomy and functional. Interior dimensions: 2680 x 1470 x 1340 mm. Having folded the seats of the third and second row, you can get a large cargo compartment. To arrange a berth, it is enough to lay out the second and third row horizontally - however, it will not be perfectly flat due to the relief of the backs and seats. An exception is the five-seat Noah YY with sectional flooring.

The Toyota Noah body provides high levels of protection during frontal and side impacts, as well as when turning over. Already in the basic configuration, the car has two front airbags, side airbags (optional), front belts with force limiters, child seat fastenings, ABS anti-lock braking system and EBD electronic brake-force distribution system. Complete sets will offer a VSC system, parking sensors front and rear, rear view camera. The car could even be equipped with a wide-angle front camera, which was installed on the grille.

The advantages of Toyota Noah include a combination of a compact body and roominess. As well as a high degree of comfort and balanced handling. All-wheel drive versions are available. The suspension is simple, stiff. The engine is economical and powerful enough, but requires attention. Ground clearance is relatively small: bumpers easily hook high curbs. In 2007, the next generation came out.
