Sales of the updated version of the front-wheel drive sedan of the executive class Toyota Windom of the third generation (V30) began in July 2004. Among the external distinguishing features are new headlights with automatic leveling (adaptive xenon), round fog lights, a different design of a bumper with an enlarged air intake divided by a horizontal rib, and a radiator grille in a chrome frame with five horizontal trims. At the back there are new combined lights with a horizontal strip of the reverse section, a chrome insert above the license plate. There are new body colors. The unit remains the same: the 3.0 V6 engine with a capacity of 215 horsepower, connected to a 5-speed automatic.
Changes to the Toyota Windom V30 interior after restyling include a new light brown wood trim texture and a center console with a metallic hue; the upholstery in beige has become more vivid. In the “black selection” trim levels, the black color of the interior, as before, is combined with mahogany inserts. The standard equipment includes: full power accessories, three-button remote key, sophisticated interior lighting, optitron dashboard. For a surcharge, a mobile phone, a CD changer, a leather interior and other options were offered. The G-BOOK navigation information system offers many new features. To control some functions of the car, for example, speakerphone, you can use the buttons on the steering wheel.

Toyota Windom sedan is equipped with a V-shaped 6-cylinder engine 1MZ-FE. Among its features are an aluminum block with a cylinder angle of 60 °, a forged crankshaft, a lightweight piston group, a system for changing the geometry of the intake manifold, a timing belt drive and the presence of a variable valve timing system on the VVT-i intake shaft in combination with an electronic throttle. The motor is quite reliable and with proper maintenance (including replacing the timing belt once every 150,000 km) is able to last quite a long time without causing problems. However, one of its "diseases" is often called increased oil consumption - usually this is accompanied by increased carbon formation due to problems with cooling efficiency. He works in tandem with a 5-speed "automatic". At a maximum power of 215 liters. with. (299 Nm of torque) Premium gasoline consumption (AI-98) is 10.2 l / 100 km. The fuel tank has a capacity of 70 liters.

The third-generation Toyota Windom is built on a common platform with the Camry CV30 series and has independent suspension on all four wheels. Modifications 3.0G are equipped as standard with an electronically controlled suspension of the “H∞-TEMS” type, which allows using one of four modes: from the hardest in the “Sport” position to the softest in the “Comfort” position. Disc brakes on all wheels (front ventilated), rack and pinion steering with power steering. The dimensions of the sedan body are 4865 x 1810 x 1455 mm (L x W x H). The wheelbase with a decent size of 2720 mm, the increased width and height of the body made it possible to make the cabin more spacious than the previous generation model: its dimensions are 2025 x 1510 x 1185. For comparison, the Windom V20 had a passenger compartment of 1980 x 1485 x 1170 mm. The boot volume has increased by almost 40 liters - up to 411 liters. There is a ski hatch in the back of the rear sofa.

Considerable attention has been paid to the safety of Toyota Windom. The body meets the necessary requirements for passive safety. The standard equipment includes front airbags for the driver and passenger, side airbags in the backs of the front seats, as well as curtains for the entire length of the passenger compartment. The front head restraints provide reliable protection against whiplash injuries. Belts of the front seats - with pretensioners and force limiters, the rear seat is equipped with a three-point belt for the central passenger. Active security systems include ABS + EBD as standard. The standard for the G Limited edition is the traction control system, which is optionally available for 3. 0X, contributing to increased security.

The third-generation Toyota Windom update introduced further improvements in model design and equipment. Stylish appearance, sophisticated driving performance, excellent trim and attention to detail - the sedan seems flawless. Although there are disadvantages. Due to the features of the engine compartment, the car is not too adapted for self-service. Owners often complain about a weak starter and a capricious "machine." Gas mileage is highly dependent on driver claims.
