Elysion is a model released by Honda in order to establish itself in the market of Japanese-made large minivans. Competitors are Toyota Alphard and Nissan Elgrand. The demonstration model was exhibited at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2003, and in May 2004 it was already on sale. The body is equipped with sliding doors on both sides, the number of seats in the cabin is 8. The seats are arranged according to the 2-3-3 scheme, while the seats of each next row have a landing point 40 mm higher than the previous one. According to the class, even those in the third row have more than enough legroom. A new low-floor platform and a newly designed suspension ensure stable driving performance. Under the hood are powerful gasoline engines 2.4 (160 hp) and 3.0 V6 (250 hp).
 As for the interior design of the cabin, everything here is aimed at creating a calm atmosphere. In particular, this is largely facilitated by the design of the front panel, made in a typical manner for Honda. A characteristic feature: on the middle console of the front panel is a group control panel, which is called the "progressive commander". Despite the fact that the total length of the interior of the Honda Elysion is slightly less than that of the competing vehicles, the thoughtful arrangement of all three rows of seats and the considerable height of the interior create a feeling of spaciousness. In the very first year of production, complete sets appeared with interior decoration “wood-like”, in 2005 “Aero” versions were added, with completely new bumpers, door sills and a tailgate. Elysion has great equipment. Both sliding doors and the tailgate can be equipped with an automatic opening device (salons of some categories are equipped only as an option). The equipment includes an on-board system with a large color monitor that combines a trip computer, DVD, voice-activated navigation, and a rear view camera. There is a separate climate control in the front and its own “climate” control for rear passengers. Cars with a retractable passenger seat for people with disabilities have a 7-seater version.

 As a power unit for the Honda Elysion 2004-2006, a 2.4-liter “four” K24A (DOHC i-VTEC) with a capacity of 160 horsepower and a 3.0-liter V6 J30A engine (SOHC i-VTEC) with a capacity of 250 liters are used. with. The V6 engine uses a cylinder deactivation system depending on driving conditions, thereby achieving a reduction in fuel consumption. The system disables 3 of the 6 cylinders in economy mode, and an active engine mount is used to suppress vibration, and acoustic noise reduction is used to reduce noise. Both units work in conjunction with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Drive type - front-wheel drive or 4WD all-wheel drive.  All four wheels are attached to the body through the suspension of the same design - with double wishbones. This provides the car a purely "Honda" move. The manufacturer notes the measures taken to reduce vibrations transmitted to the body and to mitigate the shock and noise of the wheels in the rear and front suspension. The minivan has quite decent dimensions: length, width and height are 4845 x 1830 x 1790 mm. The length of the wheelbase leaves no doubt about the spaciousness of the cabin - 2900 mm. Its dimensions: 2935 x 1580 x 1265 mm. Very comfortable interior transformation. Chairs of the second row are rotatable by 180 degrees. Due to the long runners, each of the parts of the 2nd and 3rd rows moves back and forth, occupying an arbitrary position, which allows you to flexibly change the space, giving preference to passengers or, conversely, for carrying luggage.  The car was created with increased safety requirements. The body, corresponding to the technology of Honda G-Con, for more than 30% consists of high-strength steel of increased rigidity. The low-floor sandwich platform also provides high crash safety. Honda Elysion's standard equipment includes an automatic locking system for door locks at a speed of 15 km / h, while the safety device unlocks the doors when the gear lever is set to “P”. The car is equipped with front airbags, an ABS system with EBD and an auxiliary braking system. Available options (some are installed with the V6 engine) include side airbags and curtain airbags, VSA and TCS stability control, cruise control, and adaptive road lighting.

 Honda Elysion is considered one of the best family sports minivans of the type. On the plus side: well-thought-out comfortable interior, torquey V6 engine, excellent suspension tuning. Of course, this is also an interesting and outstanding design, good sound insulation. Owners call disadvantages the racks that interfere with the review, the lack of a manual transmission selection mode, the location of the spare wheel under the body, complex electronics, expensive parts and low ground clearance.
