Wagon
The AD Max “heel” was created as a compact alternative to freight-based mobile shop benches. In those days, a similar type of sales was widespread in the Japanese outback. With the same as that of the base Sunny California station wagon, Max (300-400 kg) took the volume of the cargo compartment. Two hinged doors opened access to the internal space with a height of 1200 mm. To increase the scope, the wheelbase of the original model was even increased by 70 mm, and the increase in length as a result was 95 mm. "Heel" AD-MAX Wagon also has a large area of the side glazing of the cargo compartment. There was no choice on the engine - only one and a half liter. And until 1995, it was carbureted. All-wheel drive AD Max was not relied upon. It is good that along with the “mechanics” at least there was an automatic 4-speed gearbox.
The two configurations offered to the buyer differed from each other in details - such as, for example, electric mirrors, central locking, fog lights, an audio system (radio or radio). And also with the form of glazing - triangular or in the form of elongated rectangles or with blank sides. It is worth noting that additional centimeters of the wheelbase allowed to increase the size of the cabin, so the rear passengers here are somewhat more convenient than in the usual Nissan AD. It is curious that in some Asian markets the AD Max modification was sold - AD Resort - a pickup covered with a low plastic cap on top.  As already mentioned, only one engine was offered for the AD Max - a 1.5-liter gasoline GA15 - with a capacity of 94 or 105 hp. Regardless of the power supply (carburetor or injection), the Nissan “one and a half” has rather high traction characteristics - practically in the entire rev range, and the maximum torque reaches 126 Nm for the carburetor model and 135 Nm for injection. The engine was equipped with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic. The AD Max van should be recognized as quite economical in its class - the manufacturer announced the possibility of driving up to 12.2-15 kilometers per liter of gasoline (consumption of 6.6-8.2 l / 100 km). The fuel tank holds 50 liters.

The chassis design of the Nissan AD Max is simple. Front independent suspension with MacPherson strut struts, rear semi-independent beam. Drive only front. Optionally, the car could be equipped with a limited slip differential. Power steering was installed on all models. Dimensions "heels" AD Max has the following: 4270 x 1680 x 1810 mm (L x W x H).

The carrying capacity of the machine reaches 400 kg. The dimensions of the cabin (1770 x 1560 x 1305 mm) are superior to those of the Nissan AD in all dimensions. And there is no doubt that the boot volume is greater than that of any station wagon of the same class.

In terms of security, the Nissan AD Max does not promise anything special. Initially, the car included only three-point seat belts (except for the central place at the rear), and even ventilated brake discs in the front are not all modifications (drum brakes are installed at the rear). Since June 1995, with a partial update of the model, a driver airbag was added, and since 1996 - a passenger airbag.

Nissan AD Max has a very capacious internal volume and is perfect for both commercial and household purposes. The low height of the floor in the trunk, the high ceiling and the ability to fold the back seat to form a flat area - ideal for transporting goods. The engines of the model are simple and reliable, as well as gearboxes. Among the shortcomings, the owners usually call poor corrosion protection, a “wooden” interior, and an insufficiently powerful stove.
