Van
In 1990, the Mazda Bongo Brawny was replaced by the Mazda Brawny Van and Wagon. The minivan was transformed from a commercial car into a family one. The Japanese company spent only three months to create a new model. A right-hand drive car was produced. It differed from the Mazda Bongo with an elongated base. The model has the following dimensions: length - 4385 mm, width - 1690 mm, height - 1970 mm. The Mazda Bongo Brownie was also produced in an elongated version (4590 mm). The wheelbase of all modifications was identical - 2400 mm. Ground clearance - 18 centimeters.
Several versions of the car were produced, designed to seat six and nine passengers (for which an additional three-seater sofa was installed in the luggage compartment). For convenience, the side doors were made movable. The rear seats can be folded up or completely removed, increasing the space for the trunk. Two-liter engines with a capacity of 76 (diesel) and 82 (gasoline) horsepower were installed on the Mazda Bongo Brownie. Fuel consumption on gasoline engines in the combined cycle is 10 - 13.2 liters. Diesel versions are more economical, consuming only 5.3 - 5.6 liters of fuel. The fuel tank capacity is 62 liters.

Modifications were produced only with rear-wheel drive. Two transmission options were available: a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual. The front suspension is a wishbone with torsion bar and stabilizer, and the rear suspension is a dependent spring with telescopic shock absorbers. The Mazda Bongo Brawny had a limited slip differential. The front brakes of the family minivan are ventilated, disc, rear mounted drum.

Mazda Bongo Brownie was produced in three trim levels: Limited, GSX, DX. Options Limited includes power steering, power side mirrors, sunroof, adjustable steering wheel height, power windows, cassette player. An optional dual-zone climate control was available. Other trim levels included child seat mounts.

Mazda Bongo Brawny SR ceased to produce in 1994, and subsequently replaced by the generation of SK.
