Wagon
In the final phase of production, the Corolla Touring Wagon family of passenger wagons received a number of changes. External changes are so obvious that one would think that a new car model appeared: the design of the front grille changed, multi-reflex headlights appeared, the front and rear bumpers, as well as the tailgate and taillights, the design of the rims was changed. Of great interest are models with packages of external tuning Sports Look and Aero Look, offered for all junior trim levels that are equipped with gasoline engines of 1.5 liters (5A-FE), 1.6 liters (4A-FE - 4WD) or diesel 2.0 l (2C-III). The top sports version of the BZ touring, equipped with a 165-horsepower 20-valve “four” 4A-GE, leads the line.
Corolla Touring Wagon features a very comfortable lounge. The seats have high-quality upholstery with an improved texture, there are pockets on the backs of the front seats, there are cup holders for front and rear passengers. The Extra Package, complementing the basic L touring package, included power windows and remote-controlled door locks, roof rails, a curtain and an organizer in the trunk, and mud flaps. The Sports Look package enhanced the look with a rear spoiler and fog lights, while with Aero Look the car received a front bumper skirt (front spoiler) and door sills. In expensive trim levels, the climate system is controlled by air conditioning and heating with control of the set temperature (in L Touring it is a conventional air conditioner). As additional equipment, a large electric sunroof was offered as a panoramic roof, allowing you to "enjoy the sky and the wind" in all four seasons.

Buyers of the Corolla Touring Wagon 1997-2000 still have great options for choosing a powertrain. Base front-wheel drive models are equipped with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder 5A-FE engine with a capacity of 100 hp. The 1.6-liter 4A-FE engine, developing 115 “forces,” was offered with four-wheel drive modifications. Diesel Touring Wagon equipped with a 2.0-liter 2C-III with a capacity of 73 hp. The top of the range of this five-door model is the sports BZ Touring with its 165th “horses” under the hood, thanks to the high-performance 4A-GE power unit of the DOHC20 type with a 5-valve VVT.

The Corolla Touring Wagon E100 has a completely independent suspension system (suspension strut like MacPherson strut). All station wagons have a gear-rack steering, power steering is included in the standard equipment. Combined type brakes (front disc, rear drum) are both efficient, simple and reliable. The BZ Touring has full disc brakes. In later versions of the Touring Wagon, the body length increased to 4315 mm, the width is 1685 mm, the height is 1440-1455 mm. Wheelbase 2465 mm. The turning radius of 4.8 meters. Interior dimensions: 1790 x 1420 x 1185 mm (L x W x H). The new design of the back sofa allows you to fold the pillow and backrest in parts. The trunk floor has a built-in compartment for various little things. To fix the cargo, a fastening system with a luggage net is used.

The 1997-2000 Corolla Touring Wagon meets stricter passive safety standards. The car is equipped with double airbags, seat belts with pretensioners and force limiters, seat belt reminder for driver and passenger, and door stiffeners. For safety while driving meets anti-lock braking system, an indication of low tire pressure.

"Corolla" Corolla became the undoubted success of Toyota. Touring Wagon models were highly regarded for their comfort and great looks. In the right-hand drive segment, these cars have long been considered almost an example of reliability, maintainability and that of endurance in general. But this does not negate the large number of frankly "tired" machines that may require additional investment. Production of the Corolla Touring Wagon ended in August 2000. This station wagon was replaced by the Corolla Fielder model.
